I am only at "hummingbird" level and I like being a "hummingbird" so I'll stop at the top, and since I spent 4 hours last night retyping one post and tried again this a.m. because of this problem- I'm done. WP has too many bugs, frustrations and developers who won't fix them and I am not going to do work-arounds. Shouldn't have to. So I'll let my opinion I wanted to share last night go unexpressed here, only been here 5 days and I get the trap. I can let others discuss without my 2 cents. I wish you all well.

Quote:
LET the bird of loudest lay,
On the sole Arabian tree,
Herald sad and trumpet be,
To whose sound chaste wings obey.

But thou shriking harbinger,
Foul precurrer of the fiend,
Augur of the fever's end,
To this troop come thou not near!

Here the anthem doth commence:
Love and constancy is dead;
Phoenix and the turtle fled
In a mutual flame from hence.

So between them love did shine,
That the turtle saw his right
Flaming in the phoenix' sight;
Either was the other's mine.

Threnos (eulogy):
'Beauty, truth, and rarity,
Grace in all simplicity,
Here enclosed in cinders lie.

To the phoenix and the dove,
Co-supremes and stars of love,
As chorus to their tragic scene.

Leaving no posterity:
'Twas not their infirmity,
It was married chastity.

Truth may seem, but cannot be:
Beauty brag, but 'tis not she;
Truth and beauty buried be'
.

-Highlights from my favorite poem by Shakespeare, The Phoenix and the Turtle [dove], thought by some to be about Queen Elizabeth I and Robert Devereux (2nd Earl of Essex). In any case it is allegorically about the death of an ideal love.

ASD, unofficially on online tests: 38 of 50. I don't function well. The huge impact on my life affects me more than "38". "Other" confounds and compounds, as well as expectations from others who can't see it.

As I said, we were experiencing a spam attack last night. The CAPTCHA is now disabled so you should not experience these issues anymore.

Saw your post after I posted, sorry. I understand now that security was increased last night. It seems though that CAPTCHA, judging by search results, is a recurring problem beyond last night. So many people complaining but left to work around. Log-in problems, misdirection for entering birthday, difficulty finding things, default ascending order from forum page so I don't know what others have already said unless I go to the discussion a different way. And personal reasons having to do with wanting less online time but easily addicted, it's a trigger. I don't want to even be rewarded by level nicknames based on increasing number of posts. Maybe others handle all of this better, I am not computer savvy and the screen or pixels or something about it mess with my brain. I still write with a pencil in a notebook. I can't get to the personal message you left me with the menu options I see now, Alex, I thought you deserved an answer and I hope I am clear now. Thanks for letting us know about heightened security last night.

No, I'm implementing alternative SPAM prevention tools that don't require user input.

It’s a shame that a site owner should dismiss any member input.

A cheaper alternative would be to shop around for another cloud fare host, whilst blocking the cloud controls this one possesses altogether.

Third party cookies make the site slower and some browsers unstable.

A starter redevelopment programme is crucial for establishing a fairer routine as well as redefining some of the custom rank settings, as I can’t alter my age.

After all, if you managed to implement settings, can’t you “un”implement some?

Main thing for me is that Capcha is gone at last and it's possible to post without any problems. If it comes back occasionally during spam attacks, I can just wait till it's back to normal. I look forward to the alternative being implemented.

If the site wanted us here, why have the spam attacks been focused around us and not the trespasser.
I have a pretty wild assumption that this has somehow spiralled our of control, into the hands of cloud fare third party hackers, so, the alternative is either go solo or aim high, and lose the typhoid status that this site is developing gradually.
All I want is a decent host who will go all out for a change to please the posters of this site and enhance its capabilities, that shouldn't be too much. For one thing, charities such as speak easy could start funding the site, based on the stake out campaigning it makes and rake some non profit here, until the media get involved and state their biddings. Maybe add some ratings to the site and start the ball rolling.

Heh, I was wondering what happened to the CAPTCHA.

I wouldn't mind having the CAPTCHA active for a user's first few posts. Like, if a user signs up, they will have to face the CAPTCHA for the first 10 posts they make, and after they make 10 posts, they will never see the CAPTCHA again. This would make it more difficult for people like "Mr. Indian Love Magic" from spamming the front page all the time, but it would not affect users who post here frequently.

I've been experiencing a bug recently where I occasionally get logged out when trying to make a post, and it asks me to log in. This happens on multiple devices, so it's not just my browser. I got logged out when trying to submit this post, and I had to type it all over again. Then I was logged out again after submitting, and I had to log in again to edit the post.

It's happening to me and I'm not even new, I guess it's just the present solution to the current problem,.. anyone can suss out to go back on the page after, the site owner has this all well in hand, I'm sure.
I think my ALCATEL phone has quarantined an active block on the cookies and my ad blocker stops the poison of the cloud male ware from setting in and debugging all my http script codes.
