I'm more pleasant when I'm not angry.

Elena Verdugo played Ilonka, the gypsy woman that the hunchback Daniel becomes smitten with in House of Frankenstein. Okay fine, I knew that. I also knew, and forgot that she played Consuelo Lopez on Marcus Welby, M.D.
What I learned today that is new is -

House of Frankenstein - Janne Wass wrote:
Elena Verdugo was born in Paso Robles in California, and despite the fact that she often got to play señoritas, gypsies, ”natives” and oriental harem girls, her family had resided in California since the 18th century, when they moved there from Spain. In fact, Univeral’s studio lot stood on land that was once granted by the Spanish crown to a Jose Maria Verdugo, Elena’s ancestor.

I had such crush on Elena Verdugo character Ilonka when I was ten years old.

The soap opera The Guiding Light started in 1937 on the radio.
I learned this on Stuff You Should Know. It was about AM radio.

McFrugal's, a store gets the concept of multiculturalism. They understand that not everybody wants a pillow that has Santa, a snowman or a reindeer on it. Too bad I can't say the same for my clubhouse.

There's this really strange arcade game called Superduck. When I saw the title I was expecting something like a Superman parody, but instead in the intro it shows a male angel and a female human who fall in love, but then Satan kidnaps the girl and takes her to Hell. The angel asks God for help, and He gives him permission to go and rescue the girl, but first He transforms the angel into a goofy-looking purple duck that spits fireballs or some kind of objects at his enemies. No explanation in the intro is given as to why God does this. Working in mysterious ways? Maybe the angel was turned into a duck because his original form wouldn't be able to tolerate Hell? It's just so weird. He turns back into a humanoid angel after rescuing the girl, though.

Also the boss music was strangely relaxing in a disco-techno kind of way, especially when you're fighting Satan as the final boss in the underworld.

I've seen another game, Dynamite Dux, where you play a duck who has to rescue a damsel in distress, and I can't decide which game was weirder. In the arcade game of DD they had Col. Sanders in it for some reason.

Today I learned how lucky I am. I can get around with a walker. A lot of people rely on a wheelchair or a sidewalk scooter. I can get in and out of a bathtub. Some people can't.

I learned from the podcast Stuff You Should Know episode Rockettes: Still Kicking After All These Years has a scene in Michael Bay's 2001 Pearl Harbor where Bruce Willis as John McClane from Die Hard (1988) was digitally inserted into the background of a hospital scene.
I looked it up on YouTube.

Now how does a podcast that is about the Rockettes end up talking about the movie Pearl Harbor, and a digitally inserted blip of a John McClane? It was a tangent. Podcast hosts Josh Clark and Chuck Bryant are known for veering off topic. That is why my Older Son recommend the podcast (before I had a smartphone to listen to it) back in the 2010s. I downloaded a computer app to listen to it while at work. I couldn't really watch things at work (too distracting) but I could listen to stuff.

noggin /nŏg′ĭn/
noun

  1. A small mug or cup.
  2. A unit of liquid measure equal to one quarter of a pint.
  3. The human head.

I looked the word up to make sure I was spelling it correctly. I was using the word in the context of definition #3 (The human head). I did spell it correctly, by the way.
What I learned were the other two definitions. Maybe I knew it because there is a very blurry, vague notion in my noggin that I knew that noggin was a unit of measurement, but it's like it was for one time in all the bits of time I've had so far in life. Noggin as in the mug or cup seems like a past life memory.

"Percentile" is an individuals rank, compared to a group

"Percentage" is part of a pie

God doesn't want me to be like most Canadians. He wants me to be a little more German than most CBP.

CBP is short for Canadian Born people.

This was more something I realized than learned and it's that electrolyte drinks can be used to counteract the diuretic effects of caffeine, allowing you to fill up on caffeine without getting dehydrated.

Imitation or faux leather used to be sold for cheap and didn't last long, but now it's being called "vegan leather" and being sold for at least double or triple of what it used to cost, but it's no more durable than it was when it was sold cheaply. Real leather is much more durable and lasts for years, but companies are ripping off vegans who don't want to wear something made from animals and don't have a clue that the expensive faux leather jacket they just bought will start falling apart in a few months.

Apparently I'm either the most atypical autistic person in the world or I'm not really autistic at all, because I'm the only one who had no problems with a random stranger breaking into our house on Christmas Eve while we slept at night. :(

But then again, I had no problems with an anthro rabbit breaking in to leave us eggs or a fairy breaking in to take my gross old teeth, either. And of course I had no problems getting money in exchange for the teeth, something that happened naturally and not something I had to work at doing, like getting good grades or something.

Poor posture can make you feel more hungry

I've been putting this to the test for the last couple of days and that was my finding
