I'm curious if anyone else here does this. I generally keep my DS with me at all times so when I have a bit of spare time or am feeling the pressure of too many people around me while waiting I can hop into a game. Generally nothing too demanding of time, like Ouendan or Puzzle Quest.

So, do any of you game in public?

Arcades are public, so in a way yes.

I also play my handhelds (DS and PSP although rarely) in public when I need to kill some time.

I do sometimes have guests over and I have to pause, but I like to finish that part of the game before saving or I will never know where I got to. But I do like to make a point of finishing up enough to a save point.

Not quite the same, I know.

I understand where you're coming from. If something distracts me that badly I end up having to start over.

I sometimes play my DS im public when I have a bit of time like waiting for something, such as for a movie to start. Also when I have realy gotten into a game I find it hard to stop. Also sometimes at video game stores and stuff they have games set up so you can have a go, I have liked playing those, I like seeing how fast I can start playing a game by just picking up the cotrolerl.

And although it probably dosent count, when I play games for too long, I can find myself going through the game movements continuously in my head and partialy on my body, in public, kind of like a practice, or something like that.

I carry my PSP and Nintendo DS with me practically all the time.

I play during breakfast and lunch hours, and while I'm riding the bus.

When I'm around friends, I can play, too, but if someone who's not as close is beside me, I stop playing because they may not understand and think I'm trying to ignore them (although I pay better attention when I am not forced to "look" at every word they say).

Some friends even feel that way. I guess it is too hard for them to understand that it is possible to pay attention and play. Otherwise I would listen to three words and then nothing.
