I am a big baseball fan. I could watch baseball for a long time. I tend to get more caught up with the fortunes of my favorite team, the Boston Red Sox, more than anything else. During the summer of '78, I was really obsessed with the Red Sox--my mood that day was determined by whether they won or lost the previous night, and I took their '78 collapse really hard. Of course, I was on cloud nine when the Red Sox went all the way in 2004--I let out a big cathartic yell after Keith Foulke flipped the ball to Mientkiewicz to throw out Edgar Renteria for the final out. I love baseball because it is a slow and leisurely game, no time limit, and because it is quintessentially American.
