I am having a problem installing The Sims 2 Apartment Life expansion pack onto my computer. When I instert the disc, the AutoRun does not come up. I tried clicking on the disc icon in "My Computer", then selecting the AutoRun, but I get an error message stating "This Is Not A Valid Win32 Application". I already contacted EA about this issue a few weeks ago, but they failed to explain what this error message means. I would appreciate it if someone would tell me what the error message means.

Sounds like you're trying to run a specifically 32-bit application on a 64-bit system, either that or your disk is scratched or otherwise defective. Rather than running autorun, look for a file called "setup.exe" or something similar and try that. If the setup app doesn't work, (assuming you're running Vista-64) right click on it, select properties, and set it's compatibility to something older like XP-32.

32-bit apps run on 64-bit Windows. 16-bit apps don't. In some older apps part of the installer was 16-bit even when the app itself was 32-bit.
