So what are some of the political stereotypes that you absolutely hate?

Me:

Liberals have never worked a day in their life.

people on welfare are lazy

liberalism is socialism

taxation is theft

gun control advocates want to ban all guns

"If you don't support president Obama, it must be because you're a racist."
or...
"If you don't support president Obama, it must mean you LOVED Bush."

I might add more later...

It is not theft, since it is legal, but it is coercion.

Oh, I guess that isn't a political stereotype. Or is it?

The flipside of that is something I get a lot: "If you didn't support Bush, you must LOVE Obama".

Pretty much every stereotype concerning socialism and communism.

All conservatives are self-centered, bigoted, and stuck in the Dark Ages.

Well, as ruveyn basically points out, this is not a stereotype, but rather this is a philosophical statement about the nature of taxes. Technically one could consider it a statement of philosophical anarchism, where legality technically doesn't matter for the degree to which an action is theft. And people who usually make the assertion consider governments to lack a legitimate moral foundation.

Nah, just the ones who oppose interracial marriage, homosexual marriage, and want creationism taught in school/warning stickers against evolution on science books.

That because I'm a certain age, everything about me can be predicted.

That it's better to be consistent, even if you're wrong.

That everyone from (insert country) are all (insert stereotype)

That since America is 'evil' (or not), I am too.

That being a liberal or conservative means you're given a laundry list of positions, and if you deviate from any of them, you're a hypocrite.

That the worst enemy of political purity is change.

Atheism is evil.
NTs are evil.
Aspies are evil.
Americans are evil.
Europeans are evil.
Middle-easterners are evil.
Nazis were evil.
Communism is evil.
Capitalism is evil.
The devil is evil.
God is evil.
Political correctness is evil.
Political incorrectness is evil.
People are evil.

Yeah, pretty much the same here on those, especially this: "Poor people are poor because they didn't work hard enough and deserve being poor".

Yeah. I'm a Christian, and conservative, but not traumatized by having been taught evolution in biology class. Besides, the Bible never describes the process thoroughly, and leaves a lot of things open.

As for interracial marriage and same-sex marriage, I think the government should stay out completely, and marriage licenses should be distributed by a private agency (i.e. contracting). Think about it, people are competing as to who can blow the most money on a wedding anyway.

While I would never have a wedding in an old, dank courthouse, I can't really afford a scenic view overlooking Waikiki Beach either.

Except private institutions can't grant legal rights, can they? I mean that's why it's a government institution, a way of normalizing a relationship process allowing rights not only in terms of next-of-kin but also hospital visitation and healthcare representative in the case of being incapacitated (see: Terry Schaivo).

A private organization cannot grant such rights and to decentralize such rights would cause some legal nastiness that would end up having to be settled by the Supreme Court.
