I live in the UK and for the last few months since my diagnosis I have been claiming this. Last week I attended an medical assessment which consisted of a basic one to one questionnaire and as a result I can no longer claim it. My problem with was that I felt the person had no real understanding of what AS is and treated it like a mental health condition. I'm going to appeal this and was wondering if anyone has any advice about the best way to go about it?

You could try your local citizens advice bureau. Heres their website link.

lavender35 is right. CAB, or the National Autistic Society (http://www.nas.org.uk) will be able to give you advice. You should have right of appeal against benefit decisions.

thanks everyone for all the links. I've called them up and have the next few weeks to appeal in writing.
