Hi, everyone. I've been lurking here for a week or two and decided to join in. Before I say anything else, I gotta say that this may be the only internet forum I've read that has not actually made me dumber. Being "different in the head" apparently makes one capable of constructing grammatically-correct sentences and relating cogent thoughts. Wow, imagine that!

So, anyway, I'm 28 years old, and I'm working on my PhD in South Carolina. I'm actually from the midwest, though, and am greatly looking forward to moving AWAY from South Carolina when (if?) I finally finish. I'm a fairly typical geek. I can't say I definitely DO or DO NOT have some ASD. I've never endeavored to get a diagnosis. I think I probably am on the spectrum somewhere. I think I'm at a pretty good place, though. I've got a few friends, but I wish I had more (of course). Most weekends are spent alone playing video games or reading books. Whenever I go do something, it's generally by myself (out to eat, movie, concert, blah blah blah). I'd prefer to go with someone, but I don't know anyone I'd like to have join me. Those few friends, for diverse reasons, are not available for "spur of the moment" stuff like that. Plus, they're all male. I'm kinda sick of males, by now. :P

That being said, I'm very rarely down or depressed. I'm always looking forward to what's going to happen next. Even if whatever happens is a spectacular failure, it was still interesting to watch, and hey, something interesting is coming up again!

I'd very much like to meet a lady like myself (a smidgen messed up in the head), but I guess that's a pretty common desire for people on this forum. So, hey, if there are any ladies around looking to meet a cool guy, here ya go!

I tend to have a positive view towards almost everything. I certainly don't get along well with most NTs, and they don't seem too inclined to befriend me, but gosh-darnit, they're so adorable sometimes, aren't they? Someone should start a blog for lolNTs, just like lolcats. I see the world as an infinite sea of possibilities. Well, ok, at face value, that's not a very positive statement. I see it as an infinite sea of possibilities for betterment. I've noticed most people just can't handle being "wrong" about anything. I see ways in which everything could be done better, and I especially enjoy it when I find ways to make myself better. I don't go around spouting off these ideas all over the place, though. I may not care about having lots of friends, but I certainly don't want lots of enemies.

Well, that's me in a nutshell, and I even blathered on a bit about some random stuff. Looking forward to interacting with you all.

Stay positive!

I think that a genuine distaste for being incorrect is supposed to be fairly common; I can recall specific instances where I was wrong about something as a child, and when corrected, I was aghast. The memories have stayed with me, and I am still bothered by the fact that I was incorrect, even when I couldn't have possibly known any better.

That having been stated, welcome! I hope you find that which you seek.
