Enviroments
Whats your favourite kind of gaming enviroments? Im scared of small spaces, and that goes for games as well.
I like open games, they can be post apolyptic irradiated wastelands, open cities swarming with infected, malls with the undead, open driving (which i consider paradise itself), the like*.
I could be playin Oblivion or Fallout, if im in a cave or dungeon ill try and get it over with quickly because i dont like it being small.
Ghost recon is a faveoutire because its a shooter, but im not being fed through tiny corridors, blasting generic bad guys. I can use my tactical map and order my boys to one area, and flank them. its a shooter of freedom.
Ive also got hopes of reviewing or even creating games as a job, so ive started taking in enviroments a lot more. Playing Fallout, i wondered into the pitt, admiring the destruction, at one point even imagining how people were reacting the day it all happened. looking around, i saw slaves forced to work, and when stopped, he was shot. All the destruction around and the seemingly boiling conditions of the Pitt all added effect and impact on me.
Anyway, my rant over, what kind of enviroments do you like, do you take in your enviroments, how do you prefer traversing them?
*this whole section is descriptions of games and parodies on names. Can YOU guess them all?

I don't really like huge open world games because I tend to get lost. My favorite type of game is Halo style. Most shooters are like this. The world is not extremely small, but everything is pretty much one way. It's set up so that you can memorize everything about the game. As for the setting of the game, I like futuristic space games. I like games where the world is imaginative and easily explorable. War games are good too, but I like most shooters. Some of my favorite games are Halo 3, Tony Hawk's American Wasteland, Fable II, and Lost Planet: Extreme Conditions. Condemned 2: Bloodshot is also a very good game. Some of my least favorite games (becuase of eviornment, not gameplay): Fallout 3, Far Cry 2...
These games could have been great if not for the confusing enviornment. I know most people would disagree, but it's just my preference. I am easily bored, so constant action is important to me.

I don't really have any preferences as long as the levels are well designed and the FOV (field of vision) is high enough. I don't know what it is with FPS lately and having low as heck FOVs >_< Halo has a ridiculously low FOV (somewhere around 70) and I can barely tell where the heck I am half of the time.
