Who else likes this genre of music?

I like Buckwheat Zydeco and Huey Meaux ("Don't Mess With My Toot-Toot" is a song I can't get out of my head).

Of that genre I've only heard Buckwheat Zydeco (I never thought of the accordian as an interesting instrument until I heard their amazing cover of Hey Joe) but I really like them, my kids do too.

Zachary Richard is good too but I prefer Michael Doucet. I grew up with all of this music and was raised with most of these characters as acquaintances and friends.

Try setting your morning alarm to some of this stuff. You may not get out of bed. Cajun heritage is just wonderful.

I like Dr. John - saw him a while back, he was good live. Thoroughly pissed off about the aftermath of Katrina, too.

Love it!! !

I have loved "Don't Mess With My Toot Toot" for ages. It;s so silly and singable and danceable.

Zydeco makes me want to dance and dance badly.

I don't listen to it much, I don't know much anything about it. But I find it interesting. Just nothing I have ever gotten into thus far.

I just got this in an email and thought I'd share. It's sung in Cajun French and is called La Grâce du Ciel.

Some of you may recognize it.
