^ my middle name. It means "sincerity" or "truth," basically. One of the 7 Bushido codes. Supposedly, I have an ancestor who was a Samurai, though apparently he was the only one (I guess he's disappointed, huh?)

That's actually a borrowed chinese character. So now you know Secret in Chinese(if it also means secret in chinese. sometimes, certain characters mean totally different things in Japanese)

I don't know how he met his end. When I was a kid (I grew up in the USA) and asked my relatives in Japan about 切腹 they basically said, "I dunno why they did that back then, that's crazy!"
