Facebook showed me an advertisement for a seminar (and introductory "webinar") devoted to "reversing the autism epidemic". I find the whole idea these people are putting forward highly offensive, and I'm sure there are those on WP who agree with me. The advertisement states that the seminar is only for health care practitioners and their staff, but I was able to register without any initial difficulty, listing my affiliation as with a college I'm attending. Members of the self advocacy community could certainly use this as an opportunity to crash the party and have our voices heard, or at least expose phony doctors and obscurantist researchers for their attempts to silence us. Those of us who have worked in health care for other autistic people are in a perfect place to get involved, since the criteria for joining do not exclude us.

Perhaps I'll see some of you there.
