Ferdinand looks at the crowd, sighing.

"My fellow aspies,

We have lost someone great. We have lost a true hero. When there was sorrow, havoc, fun, DW_a_mom was there. Her face was in each :) we posted, and her work was in each :( we laid. Her smile was like a beacon, from which hope was gathered. She was our grace."

Ferdinand begins to tear up. He wipes his eyes with his sleeve, continuing.

"She left us before her time, and there is nothing we can do. However, she will always be in our heart. She will be there when we need it in the soul. When there is trouble, her lessons on us all will guide us to the light. She would have wanted this.

We must never lose hope, for even though she is gone, we must carry on. We may have lost an influential, wonderful woman, but we have not lost the most important thing to this forum: unity. No one unified us like she did. No one."

Ferdinand begins to cry, and he exits the stage.

Is this serious? It says the last time she was logged in was 8 minutes before you posted this.

If it's true, that's really sad. Wish her family the best.

She isn't dead lol. She's just retiring as mod.

Ferdie's post is a bit misleading...

She's just retiring from mod duty.

C'mom Dw_a_mom isn't at least worth a sarcastic thread?

Yet less cool members get like 10 pages of comments.

It's okay when it's mocking her.

I have always liked and respected Dw_a_mom. She was one of the first to give me advice about my son and some school issues he was having. I thought she was a great mod but I respect her decision to retire. I hope she continues to post. I'm sorry I don't have anything witty or sardonic to contribute. :hmph:

I find it sad that she is retiring from a mod. She was the first mod I got comfortable with to trust and for a while I trusted no WP mods here because of all the horror stories I had heard by members who had problems with them. I still don't have full trust because of the bad experiance and other bad experiances members have had with them in the past.

Well, it isn't exactly my style of humor, and I detect one heck of a lot of sarcasm, but I am *ahem* honored (?) that you would go though this length of trouble in my name.

It will be a while before I truly retire; I'm just working on it. I need to push Alex on a suitable replacement.

No worries on not getting lots of comments and pages ... I know I'm not exactly "cool." Never was, never will be, but I am entirely comfortable in my own skin, I have a wonderful family, and I have earned respect from certain people I admire, which is alone worth a few hundred "cools."

Why does this thread sound like DW_a_mom has died? :?

I just added a moderator note to the first post. Does that help? Or just make if all "off"? Not my sense of humor, but I don't want to sensor someone else's.
