A strange thing has been going on for a while. For some reason, when I'm sitting around doing nothing, I'll start tracing curse words in the air with my finger, one letter over another. Over and over. Sometimes a combination of them that makes no sense. I'll realize I'm doing it, and stop. Soon enough, though, I'm doing it again. It's not really noticeable from a third-person perspective since the motion hardly looks like writing, but my mind knows exactly what it's spelling out.

Why curse words? I have no idea, but I guess this is what you'd call a stim. I've done it with my right foot, too.

I just thought I'd post about this strange behavior and see if anyone relates at all. I've come to find it quite annoying, myself.

this is like http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coprolalia in almost sign language. Kinda funny. Sorry you suffer from this stim you hate. I'd imagine it was funny the first few times though, eh? :P

It could be zombie hand syndrome. Or a side effect of a medicine.

No, it's my dominant hand, and I haven't suffered any of those things that would cause it. I don't think there's anything to it other than a weird habit I somehow started.

AspieJade18, sorry to hear you have the real deal. I've seen some documentaries about it, and I respect people who manage to get by anyway.
