I've seen NT a lot around - I don't know what it means.
I think it's short for neurotypicial but I don't know what that means either.
Anyone care to help me out here?

NT someone who does not have a AS brain. Used to refer to most humans who do have a non AS brain. Used in a postive and sometimes negtive usage. A postive usage I wish NT's would take more time to understand humans with a AS brain.
A negtive useage Nt's are clueless sheep who are too lazy to take the time to learn about AS. Shorthand for most humans NT's

NT is short for 'neurotypical'. Having no social difficulties (or only minor social difficulties) would be true for most NT's.

I'm not an expert, but I've always thought the term NT described people who were normal, neither aspie nor OCD, AHDD, without obsessions, dealing with Tourette's, etc. Someone whose brain works 'normally', whatever that may be.

Correct me if I'm wrong, someone!

Um... NT is an acronym, not a metaphor.

To answer your question in the poll, I do sometimes struggle with metaphors. I think people use them to look smart and make others look thick when in actual fact they are probably more stupid or just no smarter than I we are.

The actual logical structure of a metaphor is as follows:
 Things A and B have Z relationship.
 Thing X is like thing A.
 Thing Y is like thing B.
 Therefore things X and Y have Z relationship.

The conclusion might or might not be true, but the actual logical process is just plain wrong. That's why if you try to make an argument for a point, and just use a metaphor, you sound like an idiot to anyone with a shred of skepticism.

An example of a Metaphor would be .

"I see dragons soaring through the skies, leaving behind clouds"
This as a referance to jet planes.

Some of what has been described have been analogies, which I don't think can be a Metaphor (I could be wrong about that).

Also, I have trouble with them on occasion. But on the other hand I do use a lot of Metaphors.
