Does anyone else feel the need to chronicle everything? I've kept a journal for 13 years now, since I was eleven (with a three year hiatus). I don't write about feelings or the like, only a summary of every action and event that has occurred during the day.
Consequently, I can say what I've had for dinner for thirteen years, or what the weather was like on any given day.
I really started writing down events when I was seven, but my mother had an affinity for having razzias and throwing away everything she saw as trash, which included my papers.

I'm not sure why I feel such a compulsive need to do this.

I did this for 2 or more years, when I was interacting with people the most, ever, during some high school years. Also so I could remember what was goin on during that time I was most wild. I wrote a page or almost that nearly every single day, especially when it was eventful. Black n white times. I think some of it was so I could go over the interactions again. When happening I could never act right, sometimes moments afterward I'd figure out how I wanted to express, when it was far too late. immediacy):

I keep a diary, yes. I have done so regularly for several years.

Oh yeah, I have been doing it for years. I buy boxes of compositions notebooks that I use a lot for writing. Sometimes I write by hand and some I type and print out and staple them in with the hand written entries. I feel better writing/typing things out that I have experienced. I have thought about destorying some of the things I have written in them... it's so personal, things I would never tell anyone.

Yes, I used to keep a chronological diary for daily events. But it became too bcumbersome. Now, I only do this for my fishing experiences. If you asked me where I went fishing a decade ago, at such and such time, I could go look it up and tell you where I was fishing and how I did. Thats how it is with our "special interests".

That is not a bad compulsion to have. You may accumulate enough material to make a book or other production which could get you some fame and fortune. You should have some good writing skills by now. You could turn those into cash.
