hey guys, can anyone help me on this real quick?

Ok, so for the past two weeks, I've been having weird 'muscle spasms' or 'shuddering' or twitching' (I have no clue what I do, but it involves jerking or one of my arms or both of them, neck, shoulders, hands)
Usually i would spazz for about 1 or 2 seconds for about 7 to 8 times a day, and I know this isn't normal. Ive notice that i usually spazz when i reminisce on thoughts that make me cringe or guilty and when i hear noise......(weird, huh?) Such as someone closing a book loudly, a train passing by unexpectedly, or my dog barking at a mosquito.
I tried googling to seek a 'cure?' for these odd jerkings and i came up blank. :(
Please don't say anything about caffeine because really I don't think caffeine has anything to with it (last coffee i drank was about a week ago) I don't have a doctor right now and even if i did i wouldn't have time to go to one anyways.
So, is this something i should be worried about or something? It doesn't do physical damage to anyone but i am kinda sacred if this is a permanent thing or the symptoms of something worse....

EDIT:
I am terribly confused right now, I read the most disturbing article about an hour ago and i still feel like crying ( i'm spazzing every few minutes from it), Debate class is absolute torture for me! The first two weeks were great but now is as though as if the teacher want to murder me (that's an exaggeration but it most definitely feels that way for me) I told my counselor i wanted to switch but she said i cant switch classes anymore (this just made me so sad and disappointed) other then that school is great, my mom said she will buy me the xbox reach this weekend (which is great, except that my spazms attack got worse because i was so excited, im just glad my mom didn't notice) and oh wow, my feelings are unexplainable right now, i want to talk to somebody about this, but my embarrassment wont let me, what would people think of me? Why am i so confused, headaches are hurting

I don't know what it is, but it seems to me that relaxation of the mind and the muscles would be worth trying.

The way I do that is with the rosary - I'm Catholic. It's not about prayer (although in my case it is) - it's about bringing your attention repeatedly back to the prayer - hmmm ... I don't mean prayer for you unless you happen to be RC.

It's a form of ordinary meditation, but the beads help me notice that my attention is wandering. Also I've never met anybody who can say the rosary in bed without falling asleep, and it's a peaceful sleep.

Okay, let me find a worldly equivalent - guided meditation, I think. Hang on, I'll see if I can find some on-line ... here you go - these are YouTube, so it should hold your attention. Be gentle with yourself. Everybody's attention wanders. Just bring it back again.

That should get you through the night. Tomorrow, maybe take the day off and if you enjoy any of those meditations (they feel good) do a few. Take a nap, eat something good.

On the day after tomorrow, see if you can figure out what's got you so tense. It's something you don't dare look at, so don't try, not right away. First build some strength by relaxing - that should cure the spazz.

I hope you come back and tell us how you're doing. Take care.

See a doctor immediately. It could be a type of seizure. Not all kinds leave you convulsing on the floor.

+1 - definitely get this checked out with a doctor. Write down an accurate and complete version of what you have written above and take it with you.

Eat more potassium-rich foods. Potassium deficiency can also cause this.

A doctor can do a blood test to see if it is potassium deficiency, seizures, or something else.

it could be stress i guess, and in fact i actually tried praying to the rosary last year when i was into my religious phase, I was like a huge devoted catholic. I'm still a bit religious and as for the rosary, i could never remember the right prayers. I always told my self that until I learned how to pray to the rosary by memory word-per-word then i would pray but until then i wouldn't pray to it. So you know what? You inspired me Claradoon, because of you i now have a good motivation to pick up a bible and start reading it again and learn to pray to the rosary :) God bless....

As for StuartN and John_Browning, well I'm no doctor but i have absolutely no idea if it is seizures i marked down exactly how many jittery/spazms i had on Friday and i got 14, (defenetly more than i thought it was), I would love to go to the doctor i really would, but im one of those people that are "selfconscious?" i think that's word for it, anyways i would die of embarrassment if the doctor said i had nothing, not only was i wasting his time but also my parents. What if i'm being paranoid? I'll just wait to see if they get worse, but if they don't go away by next week then i guess I'll just have to hope that they go away, that praying to the rosary thing keeps on getting better and better
