I'm Lucy, i'm 20 i was diagnosed with autism and dyspraxia at the age of 13. I find socialising, talking, noise, changes very difficult. I went to mainstream school and then a specalist college and now im back in mainstream college. I find making friends really hard i only have a couple of friends.

I'm an Aspie with a husband and two sons that are all Spectrum NOS. I sucked at normal college, but did well when I switched to online college. Friends are hard either way though. If you're not into the standard crazy extroverted party type college is harder for finding friends unless you find a good special interest groups. That being said, look for different special interest organizations that might be related to interests for you. Do you have some interests that there are clubs or social organizations for? Getting involved in these can provide you with the group meetings that allow for potential friend-making since you can't really talk during classes.

Just find a couple of groups that look like they might be interesting to you on the campus (usually student services has info on all the clubs and organizations) and try a meeting or two with each group and see if any of the groups seem to be a good fit for you. You don't have to be a fantastic conversationalist to be part of these things, just show up and have fun with whatever the topic is.
