I agree also. It is gripping tv. I am not sure there has been any zombie tv series before.

I love "The Walking Dead" :thumright:

Some people told me they didn't like it because it was a ripoff of the "28 Days Later" movie franchise.

I pretty much love anything that contains zombies in it!

Not sure if "Dead Set" counts. I don't know?

And 28 Days Later was a rip-off of Richard Matheson's I Am Legend novel, published in in the '50's, the first story to set zombies in an post-apocalyptic world where zombies are the result of an infectious disease.

I don't like zombies past much Matheson's novel. They're like Daleks--rather boring, static, one-note villians and I haven't a clue why people are so fascinated by them. But I like The Walking Dead series. It did start off a bit like 28 Days Later but I like this far more than that movie, which drove me up the wall for a number of reasons.

Andrew Lincoln's forced Southern accent and forced American body movements irk me at times, and I wish someone would put an arrow through Daryl's head already, but overall I'm enjoying it.

I agree with much said here. But I truly love all zombie shows, movies, and even games! In the words of Roger from "Dawn of the Dead" (1978) "WE GOT THIS MAN, WE GOT THIS BY THE ASS!! !"

I forgot about that though I am sure this was a one-off mini series while The walking dead is not. I prefer zombies to be slow rather than fast moving.

The Walking Dead is currently my favorite show on television ever since Star Wars went the random jumping timeline route and brought politics into almost every episode.

Walking dead is far better than anything that Romero has put after Day of the Dead.

Survival of the Dead was one of those movies in which even if you watched it for free at a friend's house, you are still pissed you spent an hour watching it, is that bad.

I absolutely love this series. I've never seen a TV series quite like it. And the gore is just ICK! Really graphic. Only one more episode in the season then it's only a few short months until Seaon 2! I'm excited!

A few? I heard we weren't getting any new episodes until October.
