Well, there are a few ways. One is by gaining fat, which can be done by eating lots of fatty food, more than once a day, and not exercising. Another way is by gaining muscle, which is done mainly by working out extensively.

a simple, easy way is to start taking the drug lyrica. i gained about 60 lbs in 5 weeks with no other changes. other fun side effects are swelling of hands, legs and feet.

only drug i can use for terrible problem. without it i could not exist. it's handled, by law, as the same class as morphine.

to take or not to take, that is the question.

QFT.

You also didn't specify HOW you wanted to gain weight. There's actually a number of ways.

The best way is probably to eat a very high-carb meal before you go to bed.

I lost a lot of weight when I was sick once and to gain it back, my doctor had me drink Ensure.

If you have insurance you can start with a general check-up, make sure you're healthy. Digestive problems, chronic illness, thyroid problems...etc. can make gaining weight very difficult. If you're quite healthy you can start with some light exercise and increase your food intake (well balanced would be preferred), this would make you gain both muscles and fat.

I managed to gain 10 lbs by taking supplements, exercise and eating a higher protein, higher fat diet. I have to say I feel so much better not being underweight any more.

I know how to, effectively- it's just that I can't. My metabolism is ridiculously fast. I can gain muscle from working out, but not fat (which I need more than muscle when it's cold). I could most likely eat all the high-calorie foods I wanted, and not gain more than ten or fifteen pounds at the most. About all I'd do is raise my cholesterol level instead.

As for the how, it's a combination of eating high-calorie food and working out. How each person goes about doing that is dependent on their personal health and fitness. I recommend consulting a doctor or a fitness expert to figure out what's right for you. Gaining and losing weight can be dangerous to your health, if done improperly.

Try eating a lot of high-carb foods before you go to bed. It's something to try (this is one of the ways sumo wrestlers gain weight).

If you want to gain muscle weight, then you really have to hit the weights hard....Eat more calorie-dense HEALTHY food (peanut butter, cheese, 2% milk, nuts, protein bars, etc). Up your intake of protein, theoretically, you are supposed to eat 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight. Also, you may want to take creatine, which can definitely help you gain muscle mass.

If you want to gain fat for some reason, it's pretty easy to figure that one out...

Yeah... having 1% body fat is actually rather unhealthy (after all, death isn't really healthy, now is it?). Having 15% for men or 22% for women is about right (for most people). So if you have less than that, then you really want to be gaining fat. That's the "some reason."

Edit: By the way, 1 gram of protein per pound of lean body mass is to maintain muscle mass. For muscle gain, it's about 1/4-1/2 more than that.

I heard numerous things to that extent. Yours being the most common and most well researched IMO. Would explain my own weight gain since ive been working. yeah, muscle mass gain, not fat so at least its a good thing IMO.

I've found that eating heaps does not work for me. I eat a lot, and once when I was younger and paranoid about being too skinny I set off eating like a horse as much as I could and after 3 or 4 months had put on less than 2Kgs.
If I eat lots I just crap lots. I've been the same weight since I was 21.
