I just found out that print screen hides your snapshot of the desktop in a clipboard using program such as microsoft word and paint, this is quite annoying to me and want it to operate like the other 2 computers. were I just press print screen then go to were I want and select paste to use it, is there like a hidden setting in new hp notebooks that makes it hide in a clipboard using program, I want to be able to use print screen WITHOUT having to use paint or silly shortcuts.

if anyone knows of such as setting or how to stop paint from grabbing my print screen uses please help!

I know sounds odd for a wp geek squad member to ask but this, I never seen happen yet. I have looked in computer's settings and nothing about controlling behavior of print screen button.

ty in advance

I use Alt + Printscreen

To get a snap shot of the desk top.

I then usually use Adobe Photoshop to make a new document and paste in the snap shot, photoshop usually offers a document size that is compatible with the screen dump.

I think Alt + Printscreen might only dump the active window not the whole desktop.

What program is it that you can't paste the screen shot into?

Use a program like irfanview it does better screen captures both whole screen and only an active window. http://www.irfanview.com/ The clipboard is part of windows not easy to remove it does text and images.
