i don't mind ads, but pop-ups are different. banners say: "if this looks intresting, click me." pop-ups say: "HEY! YOU! GET UP OFF YOUR BUTT AND GET THIS! IF THIS DOES NOT INTREST YOU, TOO BAD!"

i don't care about ads, but if they start poping up everywhere, i don't think i will come here anymore.

(note: pop-up blockers don't work. the ads somehow bypass it.)

I just saw one of those ads for "true.com" "sexy & single!" "Were bursting at the seams with sexy women" (it has a picture of a woman with no bra and a button not buttoned up at a "cerain" height.) i'm sorry, but who comes on here to find someone "sexy & single" to date?

ashfire from what i seen u typed the kind you are referring to is suually a result of a dirry website visit, a bad download, of an infection of a trojan horse or spy/adaware. make sure your antivirus is up to date and run a full system scan. also make sure your antispy and adaware programs are too up to date and run them. the only normal popup(or i should say pop under) i see from this site(wrongplanet.net) is tribalvision(usually an ad for a computer made to look like a wizard interface) if above suggestions dont work, go to www.simplysup.com and download tremover and scan for trojan horses that way (tremover is a TRIAL software for 30 days free) pay close attention to the path of the trojan if it finds one and trace path manually and remove it from registry and harddrive manually if it doesnt remove it by using program.

hope above helps!!

lol yea i seen is icon ads or the fart button or ask the planet(part of yahoo answers) my fav ones are the ones about tire wear.

the fart butten along time ago it used to be active to were you roll over it by accident and your computer lets one rip. lol kinda funny though but at times could be annoying.

what i love now is that theres a blue border between site and ad space so I know were the hyperlink starts and site starts.

I hate almost all advertisements. When they are of interest to me its not bad, but that rarely happens.

However thanks to Firefox and Adblock I very rarely see any ads at all. Popups, banners, images, text, or anything ad related.

I was suprised when I came here and saw all the "moving"add on top and side of screen...Im a newbie. I find them unbelievably destracting and sometimes have ti block parts of the screen with a piece of paper...its like putting some one who has seizures in front of a strobe light....my brain just doesnt work well when I perreferal movement...I thought that was a fairly common aspie trait, so I was suprised to see them on this site.....I assume it isnt free to have this web site and Im not paying a subscription so I guess it is part of the price of having such a cool site to visit...but,wow are they annoying!

Why don't you turn your pop-up blocker on.
