hi im a 22 year old male that gets teary at even remotely sentimental stimuli such as tv shows, commercials etc. also, i also get teary when i feel that somebody is staring at me/observing me when they are not facing me. this makes me feel bad and inferior. i do not feel sad per se in these instances; it's more of a automatic reaction. is this related to asperger's or what is it? can any other guys identify with my problem?

I am not sure if I am yet an Aspie, but can completely and wholly identify. I get emotional at the wrong time (not necessarily a time that wouldn't necessitate emotion, but not to the degree that I encounter it) yet usually don't display the emotions that most people do when they do.

There are certainly non-aspie men who cry easily. The NASA administrator admits to being a crier and has let loose in at least two interviews Ive seen. He's a former shuttle commander with no obvious signs of ASD. Some guys are just wired that way.

i can not identify with the problem, but i notice that sometimes, as men become elderly, they become more emotional, and they cry at the drop of a hat. i think it is because of some kind of atrophy somewhere in the frontal lobe. in younger people, maybe there could be some kind of dysplasia in the frontal lobe.

maybe, if this behavior of yours has developed only over the past couple of years, then you would be advised to see a doctor.

I am also like that a lot. But there are plenty of people out there like you.

John Boehner, the current speaker of the US Congress, also cries frequently.

I see nothing wrong with crying.

I like men who cry. I like them a lot better than those macho men that I see and deal with.
