after years on modeling forums, I made my avatar what I have here (the bisexuality flag) on two of the forums I frequent. We'll see if there's any backlash.

Why should there be backlash? If people are mean because of a symbol that is important to you, that's just nasty on their part.

Good on you for standing up and being counted.

I didn't know it was symbolic, I just thought it was nice.

no one's said a word. I don't expect them to, either.

To be honest, I don't think many people will say anything because most people probably won't even know what that flag means. I didn't even know what it meant until you brought up this topic, and I'm gay.

Well, I think the point of the flags is more to identify similar people to each other. So even if most people don't know what they mean, someone who does is likely to be of the same persuasion. It reminds me of the time I was riding in a car with someone who started laughing at my then neighbor's leather pride flag. I'd lived there for years and never knew what it meant.

Heh, there's a whole bunch of different ones, so my recognition of it is along the lines of "oh, that's one of those unusual sexuality ones" rather than "oh, bi flag!"

...and I vaguely recall using one as my own avatar a while back.
