IS that the Holland five? I never saw much truth in those. I sighted those tons of times for research papers, but I secretly don't believe in them much.

Captain Trips:

No, this isn't the "Holland Five."

For one thing, the Holland tests (named for John Holland) assess your suitability for an occupation or group of occupations, based on three related letters from a group of six (the RIASEC code).

Secondly, I know the tests as the Berkeley Big Five, after the University of California at Berkeley (where the original research on the Big Five personality dimensions was done). Depending on your authority, the dimensions can be grouped as OCEAN (Openness, Conscientiousness, Extroversion, Agreeableness and Neuroticism; this is how the dimensions are presented on this test) or SLOAN .

Here's the SLOAN way of presenting the Big Five personality dimensions, with how each dimension corresponds to an OCEAN dimension:

S=Social or reserved, corresponding to Extroversion.
L=Limbic or calm, corresponding to Neuroticism.
O=Organized or unstructured, corresponding to Conscientiousness.
A=Accommodating or egocentric, corresponding to Agreeableness.
N=Non-curious or inquisitive, corresponding to Openness.

**Edit--just saw Douglas' post, so I guess it is not**
