I put my money on it. Every aspie has at least a friend or two. It doesn't have to be real life human friends, think about it. Your special obsession has to provide you a friend-like experience otherwise you wouldn't be interested in it.

If you obsession is airplanes, then your friends are the MiG, the F-15, F-16 etc.

If your obsession is movies, then your friends might be Pirates of the carribean, Scrubs, etc. and various actors like Adam Sandler, Johnny Depp, etc.

My friends are Billy Joel, Freddie Mercury, Elton John, The Bee Gees, etc. They want to spend time with me because they provide me happiness and pleasure that I don't get from real life people. Real life people don't want or don't have time to go out or meet up with me.

Who are your "friends"? :P

That rainbow-coloured unicorn in the corner of my room. Although I didn't seem to notice him before I ate that mint I found on the floor earlier.

When I was lonely I used to take great comfort in being "friends" with the boys in South Park and the Futurama crew. I felt it kinda helped me through things a bit.

Hey, here is an interesting article on how to cope if you have no real life friends:

My first friends are art supplies and paintings; things that spin, bubble or reflect light in interesting ways; and music.

My second friends are books--it's like talking to a person without the need to actually interact with them or understand them.

And then of course, there's "My friend Google" (<--very knowledgeable, Google is :P ).

Every definition of the word friend I can find has the word 'person' in it. For example:

- A person whom one knows, likes, and trusts.
- A person whom one knows; an acquaintance.
- A person with whom one is allied in a struggle or cause; a comrade.

So no my bicycles are not my friends.

Say hello to my little friend here:

We've been through the best of times, and the worst of times. I can always count on my buddy here to help me in any situation.

I have friends in real life, friends on the Internet and the original Kinks lineup is my surrogate family with me as big and sensitive Mick Avory.

My favorite characters from literature are just as real to me as anyone else.

This all kinda reminds me of the 'Imaginationland' plot in South Park.

I may not be popular, but I still have a few friends. I'm usually alone at school, but there I can just get out my iPod and watch SpongeBob - my obsession. I do, however, have both real and online friends.
