Every so often I get very deep zit-like skin blemishes. But they're not zits in the traditional sense, but pores where dead skin has become impacted into the pore, and become infected. They WILL NOT HEAL until I squeeze out the dead skin. They are DEEP, and sometimes take a week or two for the dead skin impacted therein to come to the surface so it can be squeezed out. They HURT, and the end result (after squeezing and scraping) looks very much like an oral herpes sore or a meth sore to a normal person. (I don't do drugs, and I don't have herpes.)

I usually get them around the corners of my mouth, and on the nape of my neck, but I had one on my right earlobe once. I want to know how to get rid of them. I don't wash my face very often, could that be the cause? I have two on the right hand corner of my lips now, I just today got rid of the last of the dead skin, and they were basically oozing sores for a day or two. I got my SSDI check yesterday and had to go out with my face all messed up. (I am male.) It's really embarrassing, and once I try to start dating again I want to have this problem solved. Any ideas?

Sounds to me like folliculitis- I should know. I spent a year holed up in my old bedroom at my parents in the dark with absolutely terrible skin. I was convinced I'd somehow contracted Herpes, as well- I even convinced my dermatologist at the time to prescribe me Valtrex- to no effect, obviously. I screwed around with seven different dermatologists before finding one who cultured the damned things and prescribed me Accutane, which was an absolute godsend.

I could be mistaken though- it could be that your problem might be helped by using a sulfur-based ointment or lotion. Sulfur greatly-increases cell turnover rate so dead skin cells are sloughed off more quickly. (Know about that, too, having Keratosis Pilaris.) Washing your face more often certainly wouldn't hurt, if you don't do that already. Don't scrub, or use anything abrasive- those will just damage your skin and make you look much worse. It will *not* help if you have some type of bacterial pathogen.

if you have a high sugar diet, try cutting the sugar out completely for 3 weeks, it's free and couldn't hurt

All my skin problems (acne, eczema etc) disappeared when I gave up eating grains in any form. And, like the previous post, I found that giving up sugar also helped. It leaves one with an incredibly boring diet, but as I have also noticed an overwhelmingly significant improvement in my moods and my ability to cope I try to stick with it. I found the positive effects were noticeable within a 2-3 days, so you could give it a go for a few days without sacrificing too much. The only downside is that you might turn into a nutrition bore like me :)
Very best wishes.

Ok what I've noticed (apart from taking prescriptions for acne) is that the more vegetable juice I drink, the better my skin gets. Also spot treatment: use vitamin e oil,and a q tip,to dot on the pimples.Leave on for a couple of hours,or best, overnight. It's a wonder! :D

I gave up using soap on my skin. It caused too much stress to the skin, and actually increased oil production to compensate for stripping it away in the first place. Now I use a small amount of natural oil mixed with a dot of Castor oil. I massage this into my face, for a few minutes, then take a warm washcloth and drape it over my face pressing gently. I keep rinsing the cloth and very gently wipe away all the oil. I do this before bed. My skin looks amazing!

I have the same exact problem ! !

Scalp. forearm, ear lobe. corner of mouth and groin although I've had them everywhere
It has progressed to areas or better put clusters, instead of just a spot, extremly painful

I have been to 4 dermitoligist's !
#1 diag Hidradenitis Suppurativa but did not know how to treat it
#2 Quack (read: no idea) just decided to give me anti depressant
#3 diag Pyoderma gangrenosum prescribed extremly high dosage of prednisone. so high that the pharmacy rejected my prescription. I was constantly sick and would not heal if irritated
#4 diag Neurodermatitis nope!

In doing my own research it seems to be Trichilemmal cysts because of the hardness

VVVVVVVVVVVVV
I'm not a Dr and please do not even think that this is ANY kind of diagnosis

I actually lost my job because of this condition as they didnt like the appearance of my skin, being sick and missing work

In my natural healing explorations, I have discovered that any eruptions on the skin that don't seem to respond to conventional treatments are usually a result of a body that is overloaded with toxins. In this case, it might be a good idea to look into blood cleansing herbs, such as yellow dock, dandelion and burdock. Or research cleansing kits that contain cleansing herbs and fiber to help flush the toxins. I used to get painful boils and carbuncles, and started using these herbs or others like it. I get the skin eruptions far less now. When the liver is overburdened, the skin tries to detox and the results are skin problems. Hope that helps!

^I've noticed that too.Now that I don't eat processed foods,I have a lot fewer skin irritations.Sometimes I do a day or two of just vegetable and fruit juices and that really helps.I get sweat rashes sometimes too,but since putting pure coconut oil, vitamin e oil,and coconut lotion to the rash,it's getting a lot less inflamed.I will probably do an oatmeal soak on it too, which is really soothing.
I use raw coconut oil on my face and that really keeps my skin clear.Nothing like good healthy fat!

I started doing that, too. I don't use shampoo either. I only wash my hands before cooking or after working on a car, etc. My mild back acne disappeared. It's free. I don't use any moisturizers of any kind, though.
