I usually play Elder Scrolls, Witcher 2, Alien vrs Predator, Call of Duty Black Ops, Assassins Creed and Battlefield just to name a few what games do you prefer to play the online ones or single player games. Do you like shootem up games or problem solving games? I also like playing Sonic, Star Wars and Star Trek games on PC as well.

STALKER: Call of Pripyat (FPS, focus is on exploration/scavenging as much as it is on shooting things, mainly an SP game.)
While it is the third in the series it's the most stable and full featured, so I'd recommend it above the earlier two STALKER games.

Borderlands (FPS, focus is on looting guns. Lots of guns. Either SP or up to 4 person co-op, though I've never tried the co-op it's supposed to be good.)
(edit - heh, changed that from TPS to FPS, forgot I was using a mod  )

Wolfenstein 3D/Spear of Destiny, DOOM, DOOM ][, Blood, Quake/Scourge of Armagon, Dissolution of Eternity, Dark Forces 2: Jedi Knight/Mysteries of the Sith, Half-Life/Blue Shift/Opposing Force/Decay, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Half-Life 2/Episodes...

Unreal Tournament is multi-player based, but I enjoy the bot-based single player portion.

Serious Sam is fun in bursts, but I like the console version better.

I liked the demos of the No One Lives Forever games, but haven't played enough of the full versions to form an opinion.

System Shock, System Shock 2, Thief 2, Deus Ex, and Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth were great, but not traditional FPS. BioShock was much closer to traditional FPS than its predecessors. Hitman 2-4 had certain aspects I really liked, but are third person.

I've only played the first STALKER, but I second it. The fan-made ZRP patch makes it much more playable.

I'll probably think of more later, I'm sure I forgot a few...

You might like Fable 2 or Fable 3 if you're into sandbox RPGs like Mass Effect. I havn't played Fable 3, but I have played Fable 2 and I can say it's a pretty enjoyable game.

You play as a hero named "Sparrow" who is on a quest to avenge the murder of his/her sister, and while you are on your quest there is so much to do in the world of Albion (which is a lot like England during the Colonial Era). You start off picking the gender of your character and during the tutorial quest you are a child, but once you grow up you begin your journey and can explore the world. You can customize your hero by putting him or her in different clothes, dying his or her hair and clothes with different colored dyes, buying tattoos, haircuts, and make-up, etc. Also doing certain things will effect his or her appearance like eating too much food will make them fat, increasing your skill with weapons will make him or her more muscular, and loosing too much in combat will cause him or her to have scars on their body.

In the game's world you can do the typical RPG stuff like fight monsters (such as giant beetles, bandits, and banshees), explore dungeons to look for treasures, and buy from shops. However you can also do other fun stuff like find a job to earn money, marry an NPC and have children, buy houses and shops, play gambling games, commit crimes, etc.

Also once you beat the game's main quest you can continue playing and explore the world finding stuff to do. I think it's the kind of game anybody can enjoy. :D

Edit: Ooops sorry, I didn't realize you meant PC games. I don't think Fable 2 is for PC.

Holy Sh!t i would rather stab myself in the eye than play that game.

But anyway, if you are willing to play something other than fps i would recommend Limbo. It is a very good puzzle game where you have to jump around and move things to progress through the world. Torrent it for about 70mb and the exe ran well on win7 64bit. or you can pay $10 for it through steam. its about 1-2days of game play. Also my favourite fps is vegas2 and my favourite rts is Dawn of War: soulstorm (has about 8 races) or ANNO: 1404

Just listing a few I like.

Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory is a free to play multiplayer first person shooter originally conceived as an expansion pack to Return to Castle Wolfenstein but released as an open source game in 2003. Classic style class-based FPS with a large and dedicated community.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is a very good combined arms FPS with an excellent multiplayer and singleplayer that is total arse; although I'd wait until Battlefield 3 is released in October. You need a good computer though.

Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas are third person/first person role playing games with large modding communities and immersive yet open storylines .

Battleground Europe was one of the first massively multiplayer first person shooters (MMOFPS) with a persistent gameworld and a major emphasis on realism.

Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is one of my personal favourites. You might also like the Fable series, as has already been suggested.

Another one to look into if you like FPSs is Bioshock.
