What country in the world fascinates you the most? It doesn't have to be a country you've visited before, just a place where you really like everything about the culture and history of the people.

I think my favorite country in the world is Japan for a number of different reasons. I think they have a real talent for art and storytelling, some of the best video games and cartoons in my opinion have come from Japan. I love their unique mythology involving spirits and weird monsters, I love their traditional kimono outfits that were popular in the old days, and I love the cool way they fit so much stuff in their cramp buildings and cities due to being such a small country.

If I were ever given the chance to go on a vacation and choose where I wanted to go I would choose either Japan or Hawaii (because of my Hawaiian heritage). Those are the two places in the world that interest me the most. :)

I live in America, one of my teachers lived in Germany for awhile because her husband was in the millitary and stationed there. The thing she complained about was that she used to be a vegeterian but had to give up eating only vegies because Germany has a lot of fatty meat foods. :P

Yeoooo!

Outside of the UK? I don't know; probably Malta or Denmark.

Yeah, i've never really left the southern part of north america so my choice of country may be a little biased.

Ireland looks nice and what not.

I like Canada the best. Canada's my favourite.

People fascinate me far more than places. I honestly don't think I could choose just one country and say "That place is more interesting to me than the rest."

Different cultural practices, arts, flavors... etc all combine to make different places interesting in their own way. Hell, even where I live I could go 20 miles in any direction and end up in a place with it's own unique culture.

Yeah, but you've not got much of a perspective on other parts of the world because you've never been there. If you've been to a few different countries and actually explored them a little, you'll get a slightly more rounded view.

Taiwan. I have made many friends on Taiwanese web sites due to my past special interest being Taiwanese puppets. I still like Taiwanese puppet shows, but they aren't my main interest now. I'm still trying to save up some money so I can go to Taiwan, buy some Pili (most popular Taiwanese puppet show) stuff, and visit my friends there.

I'm more into cities than countries, but if I had to choose, I'd pick Czech Republic - it's cheap, weed is legal, lager is awesome, people are atheists and have a great sense of humour, and Prague is beautiful. they have some nice mountains and slopes. big downside - no coast.

out of all the countries that I haven't been to, I think I like the idea of South Africa the most.

oh and I also like Portugal just for the fact that I've never met an a**hole Portugese - they're such lovely folk!

Actually if Monaco counts as a country I'll have to change my answer. I know it's the world's capital of a**holes but everything is so clean and perfect it makes me happy just walking through the streets.

Japan. Their gorgeous inhabitants won the genetic lottery, and they're all completely f***ing insane. God bless 'em.

My dream is to live on Kerguelen, which is an archipelago in the absolute middle of f*****g nowhere inhabited by a handful of scientists. Heaven.
