The Best Portrayal of An Aspie I Have Seen....

In the motion picture -War Games- (1983) the computer nerd Malvin played by Eddie Deezen. It was a very short scene but it was spot on. I have never seen any better in any movie or t.v. show.

What is your favorite portrayal of an Aspie?

Ben Stiller as Roger Greenberg in Greenberg.

Paddy Considine as Robert Forrester in The Cry of the Owl (2009). He's never explicitly identified as an Aspie in the movie, but Considine is one in real life and it comes across.

If I had to pick a movie in which the character is identified as an Aspie, it's a tie between Philip Seymour Hoffman as Max in Mary and Max, and Hugh Dancy in Adam.

I thought I ran across one flipping through the TV the other day, but I can't seem to remember where from. Maybe it was the Mr. Universe guy off of Serenity though he was more techno geeky.

Hmmmm maybe not "the" best but one of the better ones in my opinion is Dr. Spencer Reid on Criminal Minds...... I think I read somewhere that the actor playing him even suspects that he (the character) has AS.....but I have not seen the show lately (only watched it twice since they let the actress playing J.J. go....)

Saw the trailer of The Cry of the Owl. Refreshing to see an aspie being himself, that too on camera !

mine is max from mary and max. he just seemed so real but not too text book- an original character and some parts of him were like me a little. there were some great lines in that movie and the AFF t-shirt- i liked that little touch. plus it wasn't portrayed as a negative thing either.

It's a good flick. I'm amazed that it has a 13% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Highly recommended if you can find it. It's a bit depressing, though. Don't watch it if you don't want to see bad things happen to someone who doesn't really deserve it.

Why does that sound familiar?

Well, this one's really bad. A guy gets stalked, accused of a murder he didn't commit, people die, etc. And it doesn't exactly have a happy ending. It's based on a Patricia Highsmith novel, and she had a habit of throwing her characters into nasty situations. The exception being Tom Ripley, who was quite likable (despite the often unlikable things he did) and got away with everything.
