This guy involved is apparently autistic and schizophrenic himself...

This misdiagnosis caused me significant stress, which lessened upon finding out the truth about myself from my current and past long-term therapists - that I am an anxious and highly sensitive person but do not have an autism spectrum disorder.

My diagnoses - social anxiety disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

I’m no longer involved with the ASD world.

He comes across as someone who may have problems but it's not autism.

what he did was just horrible-you don't give your kids drugs and you don't feed your diabetic daughter sugary energy drinks and increase her insulin on purpose-thats dangerous.

And you know this for certain how? what exactly rules out the autism....its pretty obvious from the article the guy has problems, but nothing specifically rules out autism as far as I can see. but then I don't have enough information to form an educated opinion all the article says is he has autism and schizophrenia but it does not describe the symptoms he had.

Based on the article I would say he can't be guilty of a crime based on reason of insanity, giving your kids something to smoke to 'cure' their autism sounds pretty delusional to me and considering the article mentions schizophrenia I don't think its too far off to assume that may have contributed to such a delusion.

It seems the guy had good intentions and did not really quite understand that its probably more harmful then good to have your kids smoke a unknown possibly dangerous substance based on the idea it will cure autism. So that is my opinion on the matter based on what I got out of the article.

Because he did something evil. Autistics are saints, you know...

This is not because he did something wrong but because of the events that led to the arrest + what had happened with the children + "autistic schizophrenic" + how he aired this so called cure for autism on his facebook which he could be having a delusion that it does in fact help.

"
Police said they arrested Crawley on charges of hitting his father, attempting to exploit his elderly parents by taking their money and aggravated child abuse"

Autism does not cause these form of delusions nor do they cause the charges as described. He probably thinks he is autistic for having autistic children since people are stating it's genetic which does not mean one of your parents is in fact autistic.

Yeah we can't do no wrong.

@TheyGoMew Autistic people can have delusions you know. Does getting that mental illness cure them from it because the criteria says they can't have it?

After further review, I found out more information.

"Ya see to begin with I was diagnosed with Major Depression and Schizo affective disorder.......later, my second time in the hospital, that was changed to Aspergers, I've now been locked up 3 times and I'm on Invega and Cymbalta and been told I have to stay on them"

So the news article is a little misleading with schizophrenia + autistic.

He was diagnosed one time at the hospital with Major Depression and schizo affective and the second changed to aspergers so technically if it was changed then it's not both.

He's on meds but I wonder if these meds are perhaps making things worse for him and giving him irrational thoughts.

Do you have a problem with me or something League Girl? You haven't had one nice thing to say to me. It's just snark.

I don't hold back opinions usually. Nor do I keep one opinion just because that was my initial reaction. It usually leads to investigating more and if he has aspergers, I suspect the drugs are making him loopy.
