*It updates too much
*It messes up WHEN it updates. it messes up to the point where you can't use it at ALL for a day or a couple days
*It's too public about things
*It shows what all my friends post on the homepage=swearing and white girls calling their white friends their N-word.
*It won't let me change my facebook name (It doesn't say "oh hey here's a reason" it just literally stops loading)
*Poking
*Weird foreign guys that are somehow able to poke me or send messages to me even though my privacy settings are set to the highest they go and I honestly have NO idea who these guys are
*Farmville and other requests I get in my notifications for games I don't play
*The stupid Timeline profiles that may look pretty but are IMPOSSIBLE to read, not to mention they make your privacy and safety WORSE.
*The fact that I can't list myself as my guy friend's UNCLE and he can't be my NIECE, even though all our friends know this is "true"
*It sells your information to people
*My privacy settings are still awful even while they are literally the highest they go and the government is supposed to be watching them
If this was true, I wouldn't get poked by or get messages by people I've never heard of/met in my life.

Do you hate facebook? What are your reasons? Did I forget any?

I don't like the time line thing. I don't have it but when I look at someone's page that has it I find it hard to read. Maybe it's because I'm so easily distracted. I also don't like that I can't remove photos from my own page. Or else someone please tell me how.

Hello!

Thank you for your list of reasons NOT to have a Facebook page. Here's another: Potential employers look at 'online presences', looking for information to help them to reject people as potential candidates for employment.

That said, now you know why I DON'T have a Facebook presence.

Have A Great Day!

Rob

Google+ is far superior to Facebook, it's just a shame so few people use it.

Yes Facebook is somewhat "silly". I can not delete items from some lists, for example "People Who Inspire You". For one real thing (especially not people but places, activities, ...) there can be multiple entries with different names. The user interface is confusing, it is not easy to find how to perform a task. Simply a big "mass" of informations without structure, can not know from where it comes or what objects or things or peoples (data of it) am I working on. Google+ seems to be cleaner (but still don't know what the "+" means).

Well I don't hate Facebook & I think the new timeline layout is a good idea, but there is 1 problem I noticed: I can't remove people from the list of those who inspire me.
Also I can't try Google+ because I can't find a way to tell them my age/birthday (I'm 16) and you have to be 12. Any ideas?

Re: being annoyed by seeing things your Facebook friends write, perhaps that is a sign you should unfriend them :)

I find Facebook's interface random and chaotic, with no obvious structure as far as how to do similar yet vaguely different things (I can't think of any exact examples.. but surely you know what I mean). And yeah, they keep changing it, with no obvious benefit beyond it simply being different.

That said, I find Facebook quite good overall.. it's basically a more interactive blog. It's the sort of thing that could only exist on the internet. And I've found a lot of interesting things and people via Facebook.

I tried Google+ and it seems basically like Facebook to me, only it's made by Google. The interface is cleaner.. but otherwise, it's the same basic thing.

I believe they called it Google+ because Google believes it to be a core service, yet they can't just call it 'Google' cuz that would be confusing. I think the name works well, although if you just heard the name without knowing anything else you'd have no idea what it was.. but Facebook isn't much better there either

Mainly this for me. This frustrates me since there are a shitton of people I know that I don't want to be friends with. I can only be open and myself with a few select people since I know that they won't think less of me for whatever inane thoughts and things I decide to share with them.

But alas, it's the only way for me to keep in touch with those important to me, so might as well bear with it and regularly check the privacy filter to see if it's working as I want it to.

Make a new Google account with a fake date of birth.

It has created a generation where privacy is no longer valued.

This is dangerous. People will keep finding ways to exploit it.
