an NT friend gave me this puzzle to solve, im stuck, i wondered if you could help me?

Ok, so your in a Reinforced Steel room which has no conventional means of exit, so no doors, windows, holes, vents, or gaps of any kind, and all you have is a hard oak table, which can help you get out. But how do you get out? I've tried taking it apart and two halves make a hole, that failed. I tried using it as a battering ram and that failed. Any ideas?

The usual means of exit from such situation is a time travel back to when the room hadn't been built.

edit: why did you say "an NT friend..." do you separate your friends into categories? Would you say "a black friend gave this puzzle..."? "a friend with borderline personality gave me this puzzle..."?

You don't, if it has no gaps, vents etc then you suffocate and die.

It does not matter if i said NT or not. sorry.

And i tihnk people are taking this to literally, lets say the person can't die. and there is enough air. And remember it's just them and a table, so how would they get out. No time travel because how could they do it with just a table.

Bang on the walls with the table, someone could hear and set you free.

The conventional answer is to cut a whole in the table and escape, but this is boring.

*thinks*

I don't know... try turning the question around - say you're outside a steel box and need to get in, and inside the steel box there is a hard oak table. How would this help you?

I think most of these sorts of thinking games are mostly word-based rather than thinking-based. Hmm

Invite the steel box round for dinner, at the hard oak table, and while it's not looking, vanish into the real world. Whoa. Now that's unique.

Didn't mean to offend you, it's just the way I learn, I see something odd and I ask why?. I still think it means something...

Well they obviously have powers, how else did they get there in the first place?

It's hypothetical fernando, don't worry about those things.

I'm crap at these kind of puzzles but I'll have a go anyway - is the door in the table?

I ment no offence at putting NT, just to make it apparent.

Ok, i think people need to stop posting about how the person got in :P it;s amusing reading theories, but im more concerned about getting them out using just the hard oak table. :)

Thanks :)

If you're still stuck, why not just ask them the answer?

And I have no idea. If JJ is correct in saying that this sort of thing is more word-based than thinking-based, is it likely that any of us will get it?

Convert to Garlicism and wait for Garlic to save you.
