On April 1st Cartoon Network reran Toonami with a lot it's old shows for the night causing a lot of talk online, Toonami then later announced on Twitter that they'd think about bringing it back permanently . With this news what would you want the schedule too look like?

Also lets assume it will be a 5 hour block on Saturdays comprising of both shonen anime and action oriented western shows like it used to be. (Also DC Nation shows are banned because those air on Fridays on DC nation, and previous Toonami shows Nartuo and Dragon Ball Kai are banned because Disney XD and Nicktoons has the rights for them) Here is mine, I tried to add a few new series, but chances our CN will retain a few older series as well as take some series from Adult Swim or are other parts of the channel that would be better fit on a new Toonami

7:00pm Thundercats (western series)- The new Thundercats series is perfectly suited for Toonami and is actually really good. Nuff said.

7:30pm- Star Wars: The Clone Wars (western series)- Whether you like the series or not, it has a lot of fans and is well suited for Toonami.

8:00pm- Fairy Tail (dubbed by Funimation)- Another Toonami fitted series that could be good to get more US recognition.

8:30pm One Piece (Dubbed by Funimation) With Toonami coming back and Funi's new amazing dub of One Piece it is the perfect time to show people the true version of the epic series they never got to see Also it works well right airing right after Fairy Tail due to the similarities of the two series.

9:00- Hunter x Hunter 2011 (hopefully dubbed by Funimation)- Hunter x Hunter has never been huge yet in America yet now is its chance, and the new series is tailor made for Toonami. This is my personal favorite manga series of all time and would also do well because the maker of the series also was the guy who made Yu Yu Hakusho which also did good on the old Toonami.

9:30pm- Torkiro- Toonami always had one or two oddball shonen series airing and I think this one would be great for that at it is grounded enough in battle shonen Shonen to be a hit on Toonami but a bit different as well.
Image

10:00pm- Mobile Suit Gundam AGE (Bandai/Ocean)- Gundam has always been a big part of Toonami and the new series feels tailor made for it with the more traditional shonen designs.

10:30pm- Soul Eater (dubbed by Funimation)- Another tailor made series for Toonami that would do very well.

11:00pm- Bleach- Works better on the new Toonami than on Adult Swim.

11:30pm- Yu Yu Hakusho (dubbed by Funimation)- One of the original big Toonami series and would be more of a nostalgia factor for older Toonami watchers (especially because Nicktoons has the current rights to DBZ) as well as bring more fans into the series. Also Toonami never finished the series so now is their chance.

It was originally an April Fools but because of a Twitter explosion Cartoon Network actually publicly announced they plan to possibly bring it back.

Same, while I usually don't watch dubbed anime most people can't deny the fact that if it wasn't for how big Toonami used to be most of us wouldn't be the anime fans we are today. Everybody needs a place to start and Toonami was ours and should be this current generations as well.

Toonami was the reason why I started watching Anime. If it wasn't for Toonami I would have never found out about Dragon Ball Z or Salior Moon.

And I never would have discovered Rurouni Kenshin, which was a major obsession of mine between the ages of 11 - 14. I hope that if they do bring back Toonami, that they put Rurouni Kenshin back on.

Me too. I didn't watch that show back when they aired it, so I'd like to give it a shot this time around so I can form an opinion on it.

You shouldn't base your opinion on the Sailor Moon dub, it was terrible and censored and macabred to all hell.

Adult Swim's entire anime schedule for early morning May 27 is as follows:

12:00 a.m. - Bleach
12:30 a.m. - Deadman Wonderland
1:00 a.m. - Casshern Sins
1:30 a.m. - Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
2:00 a.m. - Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex 2nd GIG
2:30 a.m. - Cowboy Bebop

The schedule then repeats between 3:00 a.m. - 6:00 a.m.

DeMarco added that Toonami will not be showing Naruto, Dragon Ball Z, and similar titles since "the rights to those shows are owned by our competition or are out of our price range." He continued, "Something you should know about THIS Toonami: We have very, very little $$. This experiment will need ratings success to receive more funding for new shows, more [mascot character] Tom animation, etc. I'm thankful for the $$ we've gotten, but it isn't a lot."

DeMarco also clarified Adult Swim's May 16 press release, which said that the network is developing "new original anime programming" for Toonami's return. Toonami will not have original titles created specifically for the programming block, "just new acquisitions." DeMarco said that he personally "love[s] One Piece and would love to see it on CN again" along with Gundam Wing. Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt, Fairy Tail, and Inuyasha: The Final Act are some of the "many shows we've been looking at" or discussed.

DeMarco confirmed that Steven Blum will reprise his role of Tom, which "will be an updated hi-res version of Tom 3.0" aboard a slightly different but almost identical version of the spaceship Absolution. However, the character Sara will not appear for now ("costs too much to make"), and Peter Cullen will not be the voice of the block's promos due to his busy work schedule. The anime titles will keep their theme songs, and Toonami "will make our own 'pre' intros."
