Ok...

NT's are obviously different in ways from us and splitting people up is useful in terms of medication, and helping each other.. Isolating ourselves or claiming we're morally elite is far from the truth however.

Let us try to stop calling them ignorant, for we ourselves are ignorant in our own ways.

Let us try to stop calling them stupid, naive and full of lies, because we simply see through a lot of things many people find important.

This WILL NOT help the image of AS in any way, shape, or form!

If we get along better with each other that is wonderful, but if we continue the anti-NT attitude we're only going to hurt others, and ourselves.

I've met more than a few wonderful NT's, and I'm sure if you think about it almost every one of you would have too.

Excuse the semi-jumbled structure I'm tired.

I totally agree with you, Scintillate!

Let us try not to stoop down to the level of the very same people whose behavior we abhor. Otherwise we just look like hypocrites and not really much different from "them."

Its not no reason theyre genetically programmed to do that. Its instinct and they arent very good at fighting their instincts.

I agree with scintillate also, aslo. :) I was thinking about this the other day but I didn't know how to put it into the right words. :D

I respect others even if the diffriences between us are immensely uncountable. But as long as they respect me for who I am. I will respect them for who they are.

I wish more people are like that around my age. But it nearly all seems that the somewhat older people practice this. But not necessarily. :D

Ignorance is when you Ignorant and have not acknowledged it. With not intention of be lead by the hand to enlightenment. Same case as many of my workplace not willing to accept that I have aspergers when they have no knowledge of what it is and have no intention in finding out either

If unlike NTs I am spiritually ignorant then I am practicing Buddhism and meditation so I can get to know myself and others much better then I can.

If you can tell me where an Aspie is ignorant and doesn’t realise it, could you please let us know because I want to know.

Have you ever met an Aspie who thought he understood everything about how people work, and was very judgmental about everything? Who, despite attempts to persuade him otherwise, held fast to his beliefs and just hated anybody else who disagreed with him?

Just out of curiosity... why do you believe we should quit segregating when they themselves will not tolerate us?

This assumes that all NTs are the same, and they aren't. Some people won't accept you, that much is definitely true, but does that mean that we should pre-emptively segregate ourselves? I can understand it from a perspective of self-protection, to prevent getting hurt any further, but by doing that you run the risk of pushing away people who actually are understanding and tolerant.

I've met quite a few people (NT and AS) who had been hurt so many times in the past, that they actually pushed people away before any problems actually happened.

A big inattentive ADHD group hug back to you all. I am not the same as you but I have other magical superhuman powers!! Buwhahaha!! !   And by the way, I came to the board to learn. No one has shown me the door so I consider that I now have squatters rights!! ! :) Can I be your NT house dog? :D

So far I have learned lots. The one thing that strikes me is that Aspies have a unique way of debating. I can't put my finger on it but it is refreshing.

Maybe it's because we consider all angles, and yet are open for debate? I may be wrong about that, but I know I'm speaking for myself.

So according to you that is the way EVERY NT is? And people with AS are nothing like that? I think you are wrong. I think this is the way HUMANS are. We have to stop using terms like 'Aspies' and 'NT's' like they are absolutes and everybody posessing those qualifications behave, think or act in a certain way. Aspies can be pricks and NT's can be kind and understanding. You are just feeding the flame of ignorance and creating the whole 'us and them' mentality.

I think we just need to sort out own shite out and get to know ourselves for what and who we are. Its tougher for us because unlike something else such as ADD, dyslexia, diabetes, muscular dystrophy, AS and autism have this way of lending a self-imposed illusion that we are more different than we really are and a lot of this is based on the fact that its set up just right for our own visibility of other people AND ourselves (our own emotions, instincts, etc.) to be blocked out a bit. I agree with stinkypuppy NTs are very different, just like aspies are very different, I still think its just a quick reference of diferentiating like diabetic and nondiabetic but still its always gonna be a slippery slope because the tendency to draw "us vs. them" out of it is too easy and its tough to thwart. There's so many us's versus so many thems....good people vs. people who've taken a hard fall or just are inherently a bit twisted, sometimes class vs. class, nonsmokers vs. smokers, dems vs. repubs, Michigan vs. Ohio State (lol, one of my favorite prospects right now), some aspies vs. some types of NT's is just one of those things that crops up a lot because of its relevance to us - makes it real easy to forget that again if its NT vs. NT in the same sense it stands to reason that no one group in particular has any unified control of anything, everyone's on one level unified in a community but on another level very separate, in abstract I think we should at least understand and accept the idea that as aspies we may enjoy communicating with aspies a lot just because its something we don't get often and in some cases its refreshing. We also do have to keep track of the fact that many NT's are just like us but dress differently, persue different interests, maybe have life experiences or internal experiences that we haven't which just put them in a different place and all too often its amazing just how much alike you find that certain types of NTs are to you - sometimes its like they're almost more like you than other aspies but then again from a different side of who you are because, lol, you aren't single-faceted either and so on that note you can't say that being AS fully defines you or that being NT fully defines them in anyway. Its just shorthand.
