Western countries to avoid as an aspie/autistic

If you want to lead a happy stress-free life and choose where you would move to if you could, what western country wouldn't you pick?

Romania. It looks like a beautiful country and I am sure the majority of the people are very nice, but I have a friend from there and she said the situation for people with disabilities of any kind is very bad. Many children are institutionalised and very badly neglected, some even tied to their beds. The situation is improving, but I think it is still a long way behind other European countries.

If I had to move to another country (I would find that very difficult, moving from Scotland to England was traumatic enough) then I would move to the Netherlands. I've never actually been there and I don't know what the Netherlands are like from an Aspie perspective, but it's the country I have always wanted to visit.

I'd avoid Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine and possibly Russia.

Thanks for leaving out Hungary, but really, things are not so much better here. There's too much prejudice. I guess it is true for Eastern-Europe in general, though I also see many good-hearted people working with autistics / MR people.

I guess I'd avoid the southern part of Europe, because people there tend to socialize a lot more than I'd want to...

Depending on the severity of your Autism, I'd just avoid anything east of Germany. Also maybe France and Spain.

At a church I used to attend several of the Fresh Out of High School people did a mission trip and visited the orphanages in Bucharest, many of the NT children deteriorated just as easily, as is the case here nobody wants to adopt older kids - the government at the time was trying to get into the EU and wanted to sweep the ugliness under the rug. Hopefully it is getting better

Yes, they are. Recently they are doing the bad practice of nullifying previous court adjudication under the disguise of the special amendment to their bad media law urged by the EU just to make the symbolic one and only oppositional radio station to halt (again). This amendment is nicknamed "Lex Club Radio".

Too bad to see Russia mentioned, I always wanted to go visit that country more than any other but I guess it makes sense. Probably not a friendly country at all to anyone who can't fend for themselves and aren't good at social interaction.

Yeah, i live in Romania and here people are not good to each other. They are hypocrite - behave nice only with strangers but to any occasions they behave like savages. It is an nightmare what's happening here. And i'm not exaggerating :/

Sorry since when is "Eastern" Europe part of the "west"?
