Every so often, when I click something that loads up another page, it takes about 15 seconds (and I'm on broadband), and then a download box appears asking me to download a file names 'module'. I forget if it's an exe or something, but this seems suspicious. Just a heads up here, really.

It is most likely a broken piece of code in the website, nothing malicious.

Okay good, I was getting worried for a sec. Now, should I actually download it? (here's hoping I get some vouchers for some WP Merchandise! :D)

And now I've got some proof (taken just a few minutes ago)

I have it here too, if that's any help.

Thanks for showing the image - that is definitely not an evil thing :)
Don't bother downloading it - usually each page you see on this site is made up of several .php files that all fit together to produce one tidy page. It seems there is some mixup with the server the site comes from, or a little glitch in the code somewhere, and instead of loading the .php file (which is like a .html file, but trickier) as it should, it thinks you should download it. Hit the 'back' button on your browser and try refreshing the page. It should go away :)

Yay! WP doesn't have a virus!

I wonder if it ever did...

EDIT: Oh, and I might add that it's only when clicking on the link and waiting for it to load (the page doesn't load a single bit when this problem occurs). However, refreshing the page does do the trick.

EDIT EDIT: It happened again, but this time it was when I pressed refresh.

welcome to #wp, with alex as the admin. This happens often when he is resetting the server, or whenever he hits the software limit on live conenctions, causing the connection to have to wait for a retry, and interupting the session.

This can be prevented, but only by alex with some coding/tweaking work.

It is not malicious, and never anything to be concerned with, just exceeding the limits of the server, or the server's poor uptime (I don't think it's been up over an hour in a few MONTHS!)
