I'm not sure what it is - but I've been told that "you're like a big teddy bear"... No idea why. I'm 6 feet 2 inches, 160 pounds. I don't see how that's like a teddy bear.

Being called adorable isn't exclusive to being an aspie. I have been called cute and funny. When I ask, they say it's how I said it or my attitude or they just say "I just think you're funny." I also know cute and funny isn't exclusive to AS either. But what my husband has pointed out to me is I am so cute when I am upset because it looks like I am having a tantrum and it turns him on or he finds my honesty cute or funny or me being literal. He also finds my motor mannerisms cute too and when I get excited because of the way I express them.

We're probably cute because our behavior seems childlike and suggests vulnerability - same reason we're a target for bullies,

I'm thinking this as well. My boyfriend seems to find the combination of aspie traits and intelligence endearing, or adorkable as he's said a few times. He really seems to like the talking to myself and animal noises stims.

I'm unbelievably adorable when nobody is looking. You'll just have to take my word for it.

As long as it's not a patronising "awww, likkle autistic diddums", I'll take it as a compliment ;)

I've always thought lack of eye contact was adorable.

Eh, I can relate to the whole confusion of why people find one adorable.
I have been called cute, adorable, a kitten, and a teddy bear. People seem to have a liking of patting me on the back or shoulder, or hugging/cuddling with me.

Even if this physical contact may be awkward or rather bothersome to me, I don't mind too much since I had grown up to tolerate it more. That is, as long as they're not tickling me because I am very ticklish.

I have never been called cute or adorable... Pretty, sometimes even beautiful, weired, strange, psychopathic, but never cute or adorable. Not even as a small child.

I still get hugs sometimes I like them sometimes I don't.
I been called adorable at least once in the past 2 weeks.

I don't know why people think I'm adorable.

Interesting... Thank ______ (insert deity name here) that I don't fit these qualifications. That just wouldn't sit well with me. 8O

I hear "you are so adorable" when I am being silly or when I am performing a particularly tricky feat of illogic.
Also when I peek out of things, or act like a little kid, or if I say something funny in a innocent way, not funny-sarcastic.

If you aren't doing anything and people say you are adorable then it might be your looks. But if people are saying it when you are doing something in particular, then they probably find that action amusing/charming/endearing/adorable.
