I'm very protective and careful with my possessions and I was wondering if anyone else here is.

I hate if something happens to them, but I often lose them or break them on accident and then I'm very upset.

I feel similarly. I choose not to care too much for my properties, they wear over time anyway. It's hard though to see when something happes to them. Last time I was hiking I dropped my handheld GPS on the pavement and it got a bit dented in. I still feel upset when I see it.

I voted yes...I'm especially protective of my plushies and my die cast Cars. I think that the over - protection of my plushies comes from my mom actually taking some of my favorite ones away from me when I a kid, and making me not sleep with any. I even gave up seeing a psychologist on my university campus bcuz she once hinted at my die cast Cars (who sort of function as my imaginary friends) getting in the way of my being more social. Looking back, I don't even know why I brought up wanting friends in her office in the first place....I'd rather not have any real friends if having them means giving up my Cars.

I am very protective.. very. But I do not value possessions and I only have a few items outside of clothing. But I don't like people touching my things or even being near them... even them breathing on something of mine annoys me and the item then feels tainted.

Very, very careful.
Also applies to stuff from others.

I do lend books and stuff to people, but if they take too long I ask for it back.
If it's damaged in any way they can forget lending stuff from me again!! !

YES!! !
I've only let someone else drive my car 3 times. Each time I was nervous as hell that something might happen to my car.
I'm the same with my RC cars. Most of them can go fast enough to do serious damage if they hit something or someone.

I picked other. I'm very protective over some of my possessions, like my books or a few decorations that used to belong to my grandma. I don't tend to get overly upset if a possession gets lost or ruined unless it's one of the few that I find very important to me. I am very careful will all of my possessions, though, and with the possessions of others. I lend things to others, but never my favourite things. If I know that I would be very upset if a certain thing got lost or damaged, I won't lend it out. I can get rid of things I don't need very easily, though, and prefer to have fewer possessions.

Yep, yep! As a kid, I'd kind of lose it if anyone else touched my fossil collection or perfectly displayed Lego sets :). As an adult, I can't stand when someone touches my instruments though, I usually internalize most of this frustration when around people I'm not comfortable with so I doubt very many people know I've got any problem at all.

I hate to see my belongings in others' hands.

There was a time when I'd immediately roar and punch anyone who laid a finger on my property. Or me for that matter.

I now understand that punching people over trivial issues such as these is counterproductive and the roaring can become very tiring both for the perpetrator and the recipient, but I only allow friends and trustworthy individuals to touch my belongings.

I am extremely territorial when it comes to some of my possessions. If someone touches said possessions, I will tear their cheeks off like a chimpanzee . It skeeves me out when someone dons my body armor/military helmets, eats my food (without asking) or handles my art, 40K models, computer or guns and ammunition. What part of leave my s*** alone do people not comprehend?! Someone using my dinnerware, shower (hands off my soap; yours is in the cabinet), toilet, pens/pencils/paint or appliances doesn't bother me much.

I was just thinking about this last night. I cannot stand when someone touches my stuff, I don't care if you are my husband, my kids, whoever...DON'T touch my stuff! My husband and I are sharing my computer right now and it drives me batty when he takes it, just because it's mine and it's my stuff on there, and he closes something that I had left up, or adds a bookmark. Urgh!
