Hi everyone,

I'd like your help to find out if this girl is interested in me, or is just being nice. Here's what she does:

- Gives me a compliment like every week or two (example: ''I love your hair!'' or ''I like your shoes!'' etc.).
- Agrees with everything I say (example: ''So, how did your test go?'' me: I thought it was quite hard. She: ''Yeah, I thought it was quite hard too'' and then has 0 mistakes, I can give more examples too).
- Always approaches me, to talk about whatever (not saying our conversation lasts longer then 2 mins at most cause I don't know what to say after a certain point).
- Says ''hi'' to me in a high pitched voice (I don't know if this means anything, but just something I noticed).
- Stands quite close to me (not very close and not always).
- Always tries to help me
- Points her legs in my direction when she's sitting diagonal from me (it's really pointing, she stretches them out as far as possible in my direction, I read this is flirting body languauge).
- Says ''awwww'' when I do/say something cute.
- ........
- Doesn't do this to other guys.

Extra information:

You wouldn't know that I'd have Asperger's if you'd see me to walk somewhere, so I look pretty normal on the outside. I'm pretty normal from the inside too - only very, very, very shy, unable to be social and bad at doing small movements. I'm told I'm intelligent and handsome (and I think so too myself, sorry if I'm sounding arrogant). You might want to know I don't get bullied either. Other girls aren't as nice to me (maybe her best friends try to converse with me once in a while), and just ignore me or just say hi once in a while. Guys ignore me, or just say hi.

So, what I'd like to know: Does she like me, or is she just being nice because she thinks I'm lonely or something?

Also, I'd like to know how to have longer conversations.

If you want more details, just ask for them.

Thanks a lot for reading and for your time

I think she likes you ;)
Just don't obsess over it too much and either play along with it slowly and reach a point where you're comfortable to spend time with her alone, or not.

She probably likes you for you. I'm not sure if this is a friend like or a potential partner like.

Either way, longer conversations come out of mutual interests and talking about current events. Seems like you have found a nice friend that is a girl! :)

By the way, I love your name.

First of, thanks everyone for the replies :D

@ Blammo
What'd be a way to find the interests of people? Eavesdropping their conversations? Then, when you know that a certain TV-show (example) interests her, talk about that?

and thanks :)

@ JanuraryMan

How slowly would slowly be? I've known her for about 1 year and a half, and she's been showing interest since we first met.

By the way, is there a chance that she'd ask me out or send me a love letter or something? Also, what do you guys think about sending love letters? I think it'd be a great way for aspies to put their feelings on paper, instead of saying them. Old fashioned, maybe?

Also,

how do I let her know I'm interested, or just don't look so ''cold''?

Next time you two have a nice conversation, why not slip in;,
"hey - you want to join me for dinner tonight?"
"hey - you want to go get a coffee or something?"
"there's a couple good movies playing tomorrow - interested?"

...something where you could ask her out on a date. ;) Good luck, cassanova! ;)

I second this suggestion!
If she says yes, yay! And if she says no, you know.

I'll try to do that in the near future, when I eventually pluck up the courage  Thanks

If anyone has tips to appear interested or not ''cold'' please do share. Also let me know what you think about love-letters.

Oh dang. I have a (bad) habit of crossing my arms. 3 weeks ago, she was talking to me and she asked if I was cold. I said nope. Maybe that was because I wasn't wearing a lot though, cause I pretty much always have my arms crossed and she never asked that before. Did I offend her?

when i want to find out what sorts of things interest someone, i ask them, "what are your interests?" "what do you do for fun?" then when they answer, you can keep the conversation going by asking questions about that. it's a great compliment to someone to show concern about their interests.

probably not
it might be good to start trying to break the habit, but if it takes too much of your energy / is too distracting then don't worry about it

smiling and eye contact are more important, especially if she's used to that posture from you anyway

Easiest way to find interests is by asking.

"Hey, what are your top5 favourite movies?"

"My favourite band is ___, what kind of music do you listen to?"

You have to lead them into it.

Yeah, the signs sound good. Just ask her to something like coffee or to run a not-super-boring errand with you and get ice cream after. It doesn't have to be a date date to show her you're interested.
