Sometimes when I watch a video on YouTube, I look into the comments section and I find some flame war going on. Somewhere in that flame war, some idiot has to take autism and Asperger's out of context. Someone makes a stupid comment and someone else replies to him calling him autistic. Someone expresses their love for some dumb cartoon about ponies and someone else labels that person with Asperger's.

I don't want to see this happen all the time. They compare "bronies" and the mentally disabled to US!! We are nothing alike!! This really offends me that people out there have little idea what autism and Asperger's are and are too lazy to look up the facts. They use OUR neurological disorder to bully others who may not even have it.

Welcome to the real world…
People are stupid and make stupid comments not caring, or knowing, how they can offend others.

Well, I wouldn't take YouTube comments to heart for a start - unfortunately you see things like this with public (and unmoderated for the most part) forums like that.

I blame it on the people who diagnose themselves, and then openly claim to have AS when they may actually have chronic depression, bipolarism, PTSD, ADD/ADHD, schizophrenia, or some other disorder effecting their perceptions and behavior.

This has become so bad, that I've heard kids at the mall using the term 'Aspie' in place of the word 'Gay', as in "That's so Aspie" or "You're such and Aspie".

Stupid poseurs.

It's the internet, there are a lot of ignorant people out there (especially on YouTube). Comparing Bronies to Aspies (of which I'm both) makes no freakin' sense whatsoever.

A male, usually over the age of the target audience, obsessed with the cartoon My Little Pony to put it shortly, I think . . .

OP, don't even bother reading Youtube comments. I use that site to watch game reviews, E3 footage and game playthroughs, but people who comment on Youtube videos are undoubtedly the most stupid, offensive, antagonistic, closed-minded a**holes I have ever encountered online. If you use Google Chrome,

I reccomend downloading the Youtube Comment Blocker. There may be versions of the extension for other browsers too.

I have no clue if they think those people actually have AS or if they are just kidding. I went through a stage in my teens where I kept saying people had AS, I said it about kids in my school, said about my mother having it, then my brother. I was seeing traits everywhere but at least I was feeling better about myself.
