Hi, I'm new. I'm 20 years old and was diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome 3 months ago. Half the time I'm really happy about it, it explains a lot and I find the label comforting, but the other half I'm very frustrated as my aspie traits can drive me nuts. I'm a bit worried about posting on here as I find forums difficult (not sure why - I think I'm just not much of an eloquent writer, if that makes any sense) but I've read some threads on here which have been helpful so seems silly not to join in. So yeah, hi :?

Welcome. Fairly new here myself.

You seem enough of an elequent writer to me - case in point you use the phrase 'elequent writer' which seems quite an elequent way to write :). I think mixed feeling are quite common when dealing with something like this. I have been coming to terms with AS myself over the last few weeks and I swing all over the place feeling relieved to finally have an answer one day and then feeling overwhelmed by the whole AS thing other times. I think it helps to have someone to talk to be it a friend or family member or others here on the forum.

Si

Yeah, that is very true I think. The knowledge explains so much, and removes some of the unknowns, but at the end of the day you still have the same difficulties you always did. I also think it is true however that in time some of it can become easier to manage, and the new knowledge helps you target the right issues. Before realizing what it is, it can be a very big confusing mess.

And welcome to WP btw!

Welcome! I think everyone, autistic or not, have a tendency to get annoyed at themselves.
