I once posed these 2 questions to somebody online but she thought that I was trolling her, so aw, let me pose these 2 questions here instead. Feel free to answer any of them. Thanks in advance.

1. Why are some people so competitive? Why are they always comparing themselves against others. (They stress me out.) :(
2. I'm neither very book-smart nor very street-smart, so what are some "baby steps" that I can take to increase smartness?

Well in regards to (1) :

the world appears to be run by ppl with emotional drive. This means that they will do things in the heat of the moment (illogical), that they follow the crowd (to blend in, pack theory) and that they hate / fear anything they dont understand (pack logic again).

In practice this means that the normal girls are always plastered in too much makeup, wear all the wrong fashions (round here they look ridiculous) just because everyone else does, and all claim to love Lady Gaga and those weird boy bands.
Males will take the pee out of each others football teams, wind each other up (as a bonding thing apparently) and drink too much and fight.

Its a common thing for NT's to do - establishing a pecking order due to insecurities, but also to see who's top dog, who gets access to the best females, best work etc. If you think in terms of how monkeys and wolves function, and then add on the bits like money and mobile phones, it makes perfect sense.

We however, are a completely different thing entirely. Because you wont be driven by the "need to breed" you wont naturally want to compete to look the best against hte other males/females, and thus will appear odd because you dont do that. Yay!

And then they say that people with ASDs are the ones who lack empathy of those that are not similar to us. Aren't NTs just the same with people who aren't similar to them? Or is empathy in humans too complex to actually generalize?

I hope empathy isn't a one-word for ''ability to treat others how you want to be treated'', because if I read that NTs do not lack that ability, then I am insulted. I spend half my life going around treating everyone else how I want to be treated, and I get taken advantage for it, and I get fed up with myself for being too passive.
