The thread about homebrewing got me to thinking about something off topic.

One evening back in march of 1994 I was in our basement hunting around in our old fridge. Amongst things I found was a bottle of this stuff called "lake breeze". It had all settled out and this stuff had been sitting in that fridge since at least 1975. Anyways I figured what the heck. I went upstairs and procured a bottle opener and drank this stuff down.

Tasted kind of like lemon-line soda, only a bit sweeter, and it was uncarbonated. I didn't get sick or die from it so I know it was bad or anything like.

But anyways, has anyone here ever heard of this stuff. I can only find vauge refrences to it on the internet.

It might have been a brand name for a mixer like Tom Collin's mix which is sweet and lemon limey in flavor

I have no idea who made it, there was no information on the bottle that I could recall. The bottle itself from what I remember had "lake breeze" printed on it in an offset manner and seagull below it. There may have been some outlining on the bottle too.

I saw this stuff again at the seven mile fair flea market on July 16, 2002, so it wasn't a rare thing.

I do have a hunch though that it might be a local or regional thing, then again I could be wrong. I remember way back in the early 80's as a little kid drinking bubble up and seeing the signs on almost every bar in town thinking the same thing only to find out different many years later.
