England makes sense, since it's a country that uses to have social issues with the rest of Europe and has tendency to isolate itself

But, besides that, is there any more reasons?

Well, it's possibly the most spoken language in the west, but the most spoken language in the world is Mandarin

Rngland doesn't have any particular social issues. The just don't care for the French, and vice versa. And they did just about everything but isolate itself. The US, on the other hand, pursue a policy of strict isolationism from the end of the 19th century until WWI.

That's irrelevant, however. Countries do not have mental or social differences.

The UK/England/Britain (whatever you want to call us) is an island so we are isolated in that sense already

Our language is the dominant one and we have had more influence on the world than any other country so bow down before us!

And what exactly are these 'social issues'?

I'd say its mainly because it is an English language site like puddingmouse said. English is a pretty common language, but it is usually a second language in many countries, some people don't feel comfortable talking/typing in their secondary languages. There could be a factor in AS being more prevalent in some countries than others, but the data would be very skewed by lack of diagnosis/different criteria/testing in poor or less developed countries.

I have met plenty of people from other countries here. but because this is basically an English speaking website, I suppose people speak English as its a WELL UNDERSTOOD language. If your are refering to country of origin, The Brits may just have a better medical system there along with better access to mental health experts and medicare cover etc.. I know countries like France do not believe in Autism, and if you take this into account, a lot of other EU countries also follow suit with France and either is oblivious to ASD being an actual condition or they treat it as a disease or phobia. I have often heard Autism and Aspergers being referred to as "A social disease" which it is not. This may be why British countrymen may be found here more than people from other countries. As more and more countries become more aware of Autism I am pretty sure we may end up with another language "WP" website or such. Though I do believe there is a big French and German populous on WP they just have to be found... ME? I am Australian, and I find we are few and far between on WP, but i dont really care, i like talking to Aspies and Auties from other counties. It is really cool to get an insight into their worlds. =)

Well, you know... England... they never have joint the rest of Europe. Always being different. They even hadn't the detail of having being invaded by Germany at least once, as every respectable european country does.

Can you blame us for not joining Europe/the euro when you see the meltdown that is now occurring?!

We are in the EEC though so we are part of Europe in that respect

We managed to fight off the Germans as we had Winston Churchill leading us!

"We will fight them on the beaches...."

For such a small country we have made some massive achievements, I find it hard to believe it all myself!

How did we control a country the size of India for instance??? - a country that massive! It makes no sense at all logistically

Why didn't the Indians all band together and tell us to get lost?

Well, this is slightly off-topic, but, well, from lost to the river.

I'm from the south of Europe, and I can say that this meltdown is, in a great percentage, our fault. We had a big chance and we screwed it. What is happening now is that the bill is being payed, something that is not always pleasant.

Nothing to say against that. From this point of view, UK is the second country I admire the most, after Nederlands.

aspie village has 417 members
WP 1490 members

"ever heard of it" reads as snark

I wasn't having a go, just asking if you'd heard of it

Also, what difference does it make that WP has more members?

I'd say AV is the closest equivalent we have to WP in the UK

It's bound to have significantly less members as the UK is a much smaller place than the
rest of the world
