Still dating my AS girlfriend (I'm NT) and I've noticed she repeats herself quite often.

Her: What do you want to do?
Me: I want to do some smoochin'.
Her: (laughs) You want to do some smoochin'?
Me: Yeah.
Her: You want some smoochin'? You want some smoochin'?
Me: Yup.
Her: You want some smoochin'?

She sometimes echos what I say and other times she repeats things she says.

I guess this is common with Aspies?

Take it as a compliment of sorts... when something sounds really cool in my head, funny, or otherwise really stands out, I've caught myself repeating it 1-3 times. Of course, not so much when in public or back when I was still married...

I'm thinking she just loved (or hated!) the sound of that line and, thus, it's worth repeating for more smiles/frowns!

I noticed my older boy doing the same...

Anyone else? ;)

Fairly common in autism.

My brother will repeat over, and over, and over again. You can tell him something 5+ times and he will come back asking the same question or rephrasing it. He hears it, but sometimes he just can't help himself, lol.

Yes indeed! "I love cuddling!" (repeated from 3 other threads)

I do it constantly. I'm often told that I repete things over and over, specially when I'm explaining something.

And I agree with BlueMax, it's a compliment. When you repete something it's because you're very interested and you can't take this thing out of your mind that easily. So, in your example, it shows that she was really interested in pleasing you.

PS By the way, I'm not english speaker, what's smoochin? (I try to learn new words and didn't find it in the dictionary)

Its an informal term for kissing. I imagine it to be with lips closed or slightly parted and repeatedly kissing the other persons lips softly. Smooching.

Thanks :D I know what you say. In my country we have a word for this too, we call it (literally translated to english) a 'beak'.

There is "pecking", which is also a term for kissing but less common :)
