I trust neither Jesus or drugs. I take none.

I didn't even know there were drugs for Asperger's. What do they/are they supposed to do, exactly?

I am down to very minimal medication. I take a tiny dose of a beta blocker daily to keep my heart rate from racing so I can go to sleep, and I take a very occasional clonopin (maybe once a month) only if I am about to have or have had a meltdown.

As a neurodiverse individual, I have never been induced with prescription medication of any sort in my life which I am very joyous about. ASD isn't a disease, but a neurobiological difference that cannot be treated with generic drugs which possess the capacity to demonize one's mind. They are only recommended for the high proportion of ASD individuals who are susceptible to developing co-morbid psychiatric disorders as a result of chronic bullying (e.g. rogues, abelists, anti-autism bigots, anti-vax curebies), stress, child abuse, and poor nurturing - all psychopathological attributes of the manifestation of mental illness. I'm so glad that I've never been seduced as a guinea pig by the condemnable abhorrence of the Big Pharma.

To my knowledge, there aren't any drugs for Asperger's specifically, but it is not uncommon for those with AS to take drugs to help with certain symptoms. For example, I was on antidepressants, anti-anxiety meds, and sleeping meds for a number of years.

I can't function without antidepressants, at least not right now, but I no longer need anti-anxiety medication.

Edit: I should add that I'm also on medication for GERD, asthma, and allergies and have been for a very long time.

I do not take any medications for anxiety because I have been told they are inappropriate. But I still get anxiety and stress due to how allistic people and my family have treated me since 1974 other allistics since 1977 and had expected the abuse to not have cause psychological scars. The last time I was prescribed medication for anything other than an occasional sleeping pill or aniticonvulsant was before 1974 which was to suppress my intellectual development which was common for autistic/AS children growing up in the 1970s. But I never had the beyond allistic expectations put on me until 1977. This has led to anxiety and general unhappiness but which was not medicated at all.

Sometimes I take melatonin, and another one that helps me wake up (I do not remember what it is called, and have only taken it about 3 times.

I've been on antidepressants and am currently on anti-anxiety meds but I've never thought of my depression as having much to do with my AS. I want to be medication free, though

I take some meds for co-morbids such as anti-depressant and a sleep aid, and I also take melatonin to help with sleep.
I also believe in Jesus and I am grateful that there are medications for medical problems. I also take medications for alergies (OTC as needed) and a beta blocker for a heart arrhythmia condition.

I avoid drugs at all costs, in spite of having been pressured several times to take them. I do NOT want anyone, or anything messing around with the way my mind works. My brain works just fine the way it is. In fact, it works much better than most NT's. Yes, it is often very depressing, but then IMHO anyone who lives in this hell hole of a world and is NOT depressed has a problem!

There are some medication I'll be on for the rest of my life, namely insulin, and blood pressure medications, and niacin, for my cholesterol. I took myself off Viibryd and have been taking fish oil capsules for my mood.

I couldn't function without Clomipramine. I've been off it and it just doesn't work. I find it easier to function without Seroquel but I still have some problems without it.

Even if I came off of Seroquel and Clomipramine there are two medications I will be taking for life. One is a replacement hormone and the other is an anti-androgen.

no drugs beyond the ones i produce naturally. i have used prescription betablockers as anxiolytics but i'm wary of those even.
