How do you change your "status"

Right now I am a phoenix. I noticed that other people have been able to change that to other things. Examples:

Hale_Bopp "Ruffle some Feathers"

CockneyRebel "Routemaster Conductor"

How does one go about doing this?

Okay, first you need to get 1000 posts. Next, go to your Forum Profile (I can only seem to get there by going to my account profile and clicking Upload via Forum Profile at the bottom), and at the top you can see that there's a box to change your title to a custom one. Originally you had to ask Alex to do this.

My only complaint is that you can't access the Forum Profile and other way than this (as far as I know).

There used to be a time when one of the admins had to manually change custom ranks, but I suppose Alex decided that was too much work...
