I suppose not - I guess - However (I'm going to just start briefly here , and add more later , and I will explain that , when something is a long story , ITLS , ask me if you want more details .)
My SSD benefits are blocked , the local hospital is denying me direct coverage now , I had my ID cards stolen (SS ,ID , etc.) , my toe - double - infection is still here

I hope you made a police report about the stolen cards.

I thought it was illegal for ER's to refuse to see a patient.

I hope that things will get better for you.

not in the US, they are only required to "stabilize" you. Anything that wont kill you in 5 minutes they can refuse. They are also limited to FDA treatments. So for example they cannot longer prescribe "food" to someone who is starving to death.

ASS-P what do you need.

ASS-P, if you were on SSDI, how did they get blocked? Was this a block placed by SSA, or your financial institution? If SSA put the block in place, you need to contact a lawyer versed in social security law and developmental disability law, to have him or her make inquiry and file an appeal. He should be doing this on a contingency basis, meaning he doesn't get paid unless he or she wins. If it is a bank making the block, I'd be calling them asking why the block is in place. I'd then ask to remove the block. If they refuse, contact the Federal Reserve Bank, as well as the state banking commission for assistance.

It might not kill you in five minutes, but if you don't get treatment, it would eventually cost much more.

All you need right now is probably antibiotics and whatever treatment the actual infected area needs. That is something they can do for very little money.

If they turn you away, you say, "If you don't see me now, this is going to get worse, and in a while it will cost a whole lot more for you to fix this when it gets bad enough that, legally, you have to."

Ask for a payment plan, a sliding-scale fee. If you can get a credit card you might be able to put the bill on that--it's not something I'd recommend, but we're talking necessary medical care here. Make it plain that you are trying to negotiate, that you need medical care and you would not be asking if it weren't absolutely necessary.

Ask to talk to a social worker. Hospitals have those. Sometimes, if you can't pay, they can find ways for you to get medical care. Sometimes there are free clinics. If the information they give you doesn't pan out--like they say there's a free clinic but it turns out there's a six month waiting list--you go back to them, explain what happened, explain you need help sooner than that, and ask for alternatives. When they have nowhere to send you, ask them who else might be able to help you. Don't let them go until they've given you some sort of useful information. They don't get to shrug you off; they've got to do their jobs.

Don't give up, and don't get angry. Just be quietly persistent. Sooner or later, they will give in. They won't immediately throw you out because you're not making trouble; you're just constantly *there*. It'll wear them down eventually.

have you tried talking to people from churches? they seem to like to help non drug users out

...Likewise , it's not that I was " banned from the ER " , but the hospital department I was working with doesn't really want to work with me anymore , more or less (Especially under an " a**hole doctor " head M.D. there " .)
They give me a perscription for more antibiotics (I am at present finishing off the earlier prescription I was carrying with me when I went there ~ But it will run out , no more , tomorrow or thereabout .) , but , with my money waaay down now , I can't redeem it now .
Also , I'm not sure how much of the background I have given before , but the " windfall " I received 2/3-ish of has had the last 1/3 not coming for numerous weeks now - and the outfit that was supposed to send it to me those weeks ago ignoring numerous letters/PMs/callo-s to them as of now , and I am chained to San Jose if they are going to send it to my address there .

...Re the foot and most things:
An aunt/grannie to stay with and rest at while I get treatment .
I have had problems with the care offered here in SJ in the past (The trouble is in the past now and I'd ask the couple here that I've spoken to it about off-board to stay out of talking about it here , please , it's in the past now .) , much of it connected with my basic non-connection to anyone essentially but people through the Net here , no other way of contacting or being contacted back , really ~ During the time of the other 2/3s-ish of the windfall I stayed at a (not very) cheap motel , which meant I had to get myself around not carrying everything with me and get back somehow to the room with a bad foot - Often with pain there , and for part of that time , the hospital program had cut off my antibiotics 100% .
I think there is someone , in Santa Cruz , who helped me before with getting the ID card that was stolen here (Which , yes , I did report .) , but I am rather chained here by my need to be mnear my mailbox:-( .
I sometimes wonder whether I should become more a " sleeping in the hills " homeless but , perhaps , I am being dramatic on that:--...

I don't know if this will help you or not,if you know what antibiotic you need,you may be able to purchase it at a feed store or a pet store.Its the same as what people get.But you don't need a script and it's way cheaper.Good luck.

I have bad feet , I am carrying too much stuff , I don't get around to much around San Jose without a car (SJ is VERY spread out/car-needing , I suppose) . the bandage finally came off the worse of my 2 bad feet and I don't even have money to buy some basic Band-Aids with:-( , I am semi-hanging around the library now tos ee whether the worker at my SSD payee responds to my writing them and also as to whether a desperate attempt ~ Although I suppose the lack of my SSD cash , being far more basic/bare-bones , is even more desperate !
It's hard to get around , and I can't quite just walk into an agency and say " here I am . Please help me . " .
I haven't even eaten this day and it's very (for San Jose) cold and it look like it might possibly rain !

...It looks I WON'T get the lost money from the broken ATM til' I get a form sent to me by the payees and send it back or whatever (aLONG WITH THE LAST 1/3 OR WHATEVER OF THE WINDFALL ALSO REYUIRING WAITING FOR A LETTER WHICH NEVER COMES ~ i HAD WANTED TO GO TO sANTA cRUZ TO SEE IF A NURSE THERE , WHO HAD HELPED ME GET AN id CARD BEFORE , COULD MAYBE HELP ME AGAIN THIS TIME (Okay , mis-typing , not gonna correct that , I haven't eaten eaten to-day...) , and maybe get Santa Cruz hospital help there , since they haven't seen me for a while...I don't know how/how much my foot may get worse ! !! !! !! !!
And with no money now I can't even get my prescriptions for the hospital:-( ! !! !! !! !!

Are you eligible for the ABD (Aged, Blind & Disabled) Program from California Dept. of Social Services? Once you're on ABD you get Medicaid then all your meds are free.
