Would it be viable to have some sort of thing where you can ignore annoying users?

Can I bump this and ask for such a feature to be implemented also?

There's synchronicity for you, I was wondering the same thing myself.

Also, is there a way to block PMs from individuals?

we used to have an ignore feature but I removed it because it strained the server's resources due to me not being as good at the php programming language at the time.

more than that, ignoring an individual could potentially make a thread unreadable, as you may only get half the information. Also, if you read someone else's quoting of the person you've ignored, the ignore feature is made pointless.

If someone's harassing you over PM, make a complaint. If not, just skip over what they post whenever you see their name in / on a thread. Your brain has a built-in ignore feature. :P

My concern is an ignore feature may do more harm than good. I think its generally very healthy for us to be exposed to difficult people. I know I compelely avoid them in real life.

I've used this several times on WP before, but Atomika was a nasty one who made this technique damned annoying!

Atomika had 1337 annoyance skills. A global ignore would have been the best option, just have that kind ignored for all users of the site.

That could actually be pretty amusing. Have someone auto-ignored by all, so that they can see stuff, think they are posting and being seen, but in reality it isn't even possible to ignore them, because nobody was aware that they were there in the first place.

i wonder, why not have it cookie based, beucase i know a few users on here that wish something can be done and maybe a cookie based thing wont be bad, it wouldnt be a big server issue, just at the person's individual computer, how about it alex??? make sense??

works like that inteltxt thing, were u just click ignore, and the person is ignored until cookies are cleared then user can decide if they want to keep blocking a spacific user's pms and posts

is this possible??
